George Town Heritage Hotels (GTHH) is the portal of heritage hotels in Penang. GTHH consists of Seven Terraces, Muntri Mews, Muntri Grove & Jawi Peranakan Mansion, Kebaya Dining Room Mews Cafe. I stayed at 7 Terraces, and ate at Muntri Mews -- both hotels exude a strong & unique Penang 'Sense of Place''. The Peranakan identity at 7 Terraces -- architecture, furniture, decoration, utensils & porcelain -- is absolutely stunning. Kudos to Chris Ong of GTHH!

It is always quite an experience in travel to stumble upon quaint surprises like these in unexpected nooks n corners. A tiny hidden world of secrets awaiting discovery. Yrs ago I got lost wandering around Georgetown on a rainy evening n winded up in Muntri Mews cafe for dinner & directions. The Nasi Kandar and mint mojito captured my tastebuds n I struck up a conversation with the manager who passed me a brochure where Seven Terraces caught my attention n remained on my radar. As a fan of UNESCO sites & old towns , Penang holds a special charm bec of its raw & gritty authenticity. I was darn glad to discover this channel and even more so that everything lives up to its name when I finally stayed in Seven Terraces recently. Thank you for all the insights in this channel whose unpretentious sharings make Georgetown all the more endearing. I wl be back again & hope to catch an exhibition or a tour of Seven Terraces as when a new menu launches at Kebaya/Malaya.
