I build my own rods so I'm not sure exactly which brand would be best, but I'd go with a 7'6"-8'2" heavy med-fast 15-25lb with as long a full grip handle as possible if you're throwing live bait or lures. For dead bait or surf fishing I'd go with a 9-11' heavy. Just depends on what you're using it for

It's got a handle on the mounting bracket. It's only 100lbs so I just grab it there and let it hang or reach my other hand around to the back of it and support it there too. It's not bad to move

Happened to my little sister and got she was traumatized. We had no idea what happened as she was swimming in the lake when it happened using a lily pad, which is like a big foam pad that floats on the water, and my sister got stung bad while under water ever! The catfish in that smaller SoCal lake were still massive and man it sucks she was in so much pain definitely worse then a bee sting even tho the pain is supposed to be comparable
Actually you're wrong. It's third on the list.. Dorado is number one. Blue Marlin and number two.. and your jack travail is considered number 3.. so when you grow up you'll catch a bigger fish that knows how to actually fight..
You mean Mahi Dorado?? If so I'm gonna have to disagree there. Caught them before and they can't compare. Now a blue marlin is a different story. Haven't had the chance to hook into one of them yet.
So I looked at these a while back there around $700 bucks , maybe more now? They would be great if they had an actual bow casting platform , just like bass boats or flats skiffs, there great for one person out site fishing as you have the front trolling motor bracket built in , don’t know if they have reinforcement inside the bracket mount ? But aluminum cover would help , I agree those ribs in the bottom are more for reinforcement to stiffen the bottom as they are water traps and are uncomfortable to stand on I think they could have gotten the same effect with shorter ribs , now and this is me , I’m a retired fiberglass boat builder of 32 yrs , I’ve searched around and didn’t find anyone that builds these like for saltwater , if the manufacturer would build these in 14-16’ ft , had a bow casting platform forget the mid seat , they can’t sit on the bow platform , this would leave room for a removable cooler that could be a seat , make it tiller drive or a small side console put a plastic non rotting transom reinforcement and put a rear poling platform on it , all stainless steel bow eye and stern eyes on it with a couple rope cleats , bow trolling motor mount and an optional bow keel protector , they would sell like hot cakes , they would beat out the competition of high end flats skiffs and big bucks bass boats industry, and the way times are right now people can’t👈🏼afford big boy toys , that boat would get people on the water , now outboard motors ( ha that’s a whole different thing 💸💸💸) maybe sun thing used and cheap ! And keep the price around $ $1500, no motor or trailer , separate price . Opp’s forgot fill the hull to deck with flotation foam it would be unsinkable !
nice new engine bet it pushs your vessel over 30 w/ just you. I think the bolts are in backwards. what type of paint are using on the hull? do you have a paint sparyer gun?I'm wanting a 20hp but will have to get a 9.9hp bc I want binnical an 25" shaft.
Sounds nice. I used an air gun paint sprayer and total boat aluminum boat paint. It's great wherever I actually let it dry. I had to fish a tournament before the bottom had totally cured and some of it peeled off so I have to touch up some spots. If you follow the instructions it works great though
I'd much rather have my 2013 PA12 rather than a new 2024 model. At least with the older ones when you got a good one it just last forever if you take care of it. The newer ones seem like they have all kinds of issues.

But here in MD Eastern Shore some of the guys I work with that do a lot freshwater fishing had caught close to dragon status size snakefish. And I hear they are aggressive, and they are great for fish tacos. That is what I would call "One Reel To Rule Them All".
This one is almost identical to the 3rd generation of Abu Garcia Revo toro beast 60. I have both of them. Cannot tell the differences. BTW, penn is cheaper on European market.
Interesting. Not surprising since both companies are owned by Pure Fishing now. I would imagine the Penn probably has more corrosion resistant components
my 15hp 2 stroke yamaha is being replaced with one of these this week. my decision was based on the weight of the suzuki, its close to 30 pounds lighter than the new 20hp yamaha or honda.
Just absolutely loving it. Ran out in the bay and got some good ones this morning. It's running like a champ. The only thing that irritates me is it instantly throttles down if you take your hand off the tiller, there's no slow throttling down. Probably a great safety feature, but it is mildly irritating. Love everything else about it though
