We love travelling and discovering new places and meeting new people from all around the world. Currently travelled to 50 different Countries and Islands (Just hit the milestone). Living and working in the UK's "Hamster wheel" was proving more and more difficult to carry on doing this. Our lives were disappearing in front of our eyes. We decided to move to Bulgaria with a 2-year plan. Our plan (God willing) is to rent for 2 years whilst discovering Bulgaria and her surrounding neighbours. Once we have fully discovered Bulgaria and learnt her language, traditions, and cultures, we will buy our "Home" in an area where we feel comfortable. We would love it if you followed us on our journey and hopefully get to see some of beautiful Bulgaria and all she has to offer.

Important is how large of a percentage a certain Ethic group is in and around the village. That is a good indicator of how high or low the crime rate is. Also if there are any problems with year around Water and electric.
Hrabrino is a nice village - the part of the village that you didn’t visit (on the road to Izvor) has a nice villa zone and plenty of relatively flat land that’s good for building on. The issue with the village that you picked up on is a lazy mayor (the old one was recently voted out so I have no idea about the new one) which means there’s no attempt to apply for European funding to develop the place, fix the dilapidated school where the bus dropped you off and generally keep the village clean and tidy. The advantages of Hrabrino are clean air, direct access to some beautiful mountain scenery and a climate that is less hot than Plovdiv during the summer, and usually warmer during the winter, since they’re not affected by the temperature inversions that sometimes cloak Plovdiv in fog and freezing temperatures in December, January and early February. Olives, figs and some palms thrive in Hrabrino and the surrounding Rhodopi collar.
Hi there, thanks so much I am thinking about getting a property in this village and low and behold there's a video❤....what are your favourite villages in this area?
I moved to Bulgaria almost 20 years ago now. Of all the countries I have lived in it truly stands apart. From rolling hills to valleys of roses to snow covered mountains, then on to the seaside, Bulgaria has it all. As if that wasn't enough the entire country is littered with ancient ruins and archeological marvels spanning from pre Roman empire all the way through to the stunning monasteries of the more recent past. I have spent almost two decades here and I still find new sights, fascinating ruins and beautiful landscapes to take in. I could do without the 40c+ summers but I guess it's just a good excuse to escape up to the mountains where it's lovely and cool.
You did a great job of capturing the beauty of the cemetery, and I felt like I was right there with you as you walked through it. Great choice of music also. Thanks 👏
Hi Alan, You can get cheaper in other shops. As we said this is more like a British Waitrose. Bulgaria is not cheap anymore. We just had some friends come back from Ireland and they said the Lidl in Ireland is cheaper than Bulgaria ! Thank you for watching.😀
I just got back from Bulgaria myself and can honestly say that I was rather shocked at how expensive it was.We had taken the trip to see how realistic it would be to base ourselves there and take advantage of the low property prices and cost of living. The former is true, you get a lot of property for your money in Bulgaria, the latter is not, prices in Bulgaria are every bit as expensive as those in the UK. This came as something of a shock to us as we had been led to believe that the cost of living was much lower there. I suppose if you include things like rents and wine, then fair enough. The sort of stuff that makes up the staples of live though now cost just as much there as here in the UK. Some folks go on about Brexit and how that has affected prices here but in reality the continent has also been going through rampant inflation which, if anything, is even worse. In summary, Bulgaria is no longer a cheap country to live but still an interesting one if other aspects appeal to you (it's much quieter and cleaner than the UK for example).
@@mrmrsbinbulgaria1298 Yes. A friend bought a place in 2019 but couldn't move out until recently because of C19. He told me a lot about the cost of living when he first went and this was reinforced by many (older) RU-vid videos. As you can imagine, it came as something of a shock when we realised that today Bulgaria is not cheaper for many of the essentials (though still good in some areas like rents and house prices).
I believe we watched the same video.😌 While it is true that the video is a bit jerky in some places, I believe that pausing the video allows viewers to get a good sense of the items in the shop and their prices. Additionally, the woman in the video does a good job of providing context for the prices, which gives viewers a good idea of what to expect at a high-end supermarket. I respectfully disagree with your statement that the video was badly made. The couple who created the video were not making a BBC documentary, and I believe that they did a good job of capturing the essence of the supermarket tour.
@nicholas5951 thanks for your support, we are nowhere near being pros at this ( Far from it ) but we realise that when making these you will always get some that feel they can do better 👍Which they possibly could but we do it for a bit of fun also 😅
As for your comment about rubbish. What rubbish was in the village is what you seen in the video ... we hide nothing from our videos nor do we make comments on them we let people make there own mind up and any place we visit. We saw one stray dog, maybe they was all sleeping on our visit. Thank you for your comments and for watching.
@@PenkaRose That is untrue. The reason we went there was due a an expat that films from this village. Also we seen a few foreign number plates in the village. Thanks for watching.
Great video, and lovely village 😊 if you're ever passing through the Rural Strahitza district of Veliko Tarnavo then we would love to meet you! 😊 Best of luck on your travels!!
Hi Both, thanks for taking the time to watch our very amateurish videos : ). We will certainly take you up on your offer once we head up that way exploring villages. We have a two year plan to find our Homestead and currently around the Plovdiv area. Our videos are not for everyone but hopefully useful for those who want to explore the villages and see what Bulgaria have to offer. Good luck to both of you and we will start to watch your videos now.
@@krasimirkirev5291 The main roads in was in good condition, off the main roads your usually pot hole but nothing serious like some places . Thanks for watching🙂
Thanks for your time and information on this Village, very useful in the coming months for us. Looks like a place worth visiting. Do you know why people are starting to move here ... A Factory or some kind of industry starting to be built in the area ?
Hi Nicholas, We are not sure about a factory of any kind being built but the village does has a lot going for it. Possibly a few more shops will appear as more people move in. It is certainly not a "Dying" village. Please keep watching for more village/ town drive throughs. 🥰
Not as cheap as I was hoping for them living there. It’s discounted compared to U.K. but it’s not o my god that’s cheap. Be good if you when to a cheaper store not a Waitrose of Bulgaria
It's much the same in the normal supermarkets now Chris. The prices are, if anything, higher than in the UK. I hear electricity prices have gone through the roof in Bulgaria as well. If you hope to live there, you need to investigate the viability carefully.
"Despite the low number of permanent residents, the village comes to life during the summer months when the hundreds of homes - both old stone houses and modern summer homes - get filled with people looking to escape from the heat and to enjoy the beautiful mountain landscapes." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lilkovo
