@@Imhim247 I would say that definitely depends on your itinerary! If you’re staying primarily in one place, I think it would be perfect! But if you plan on moving your luggage between countries a lot, I would opt for a backpack over a suitcase.
One of my favorite resorts we’ve stayed in so far, the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico did not disappoint! This luxury beach resort in Río Grande has a lagoon style swimming pool, on-site spa, 18 hole golf course, tennis courts, and so much more. 🏝️ Located about 40 minutes from the San Juan airport, it was the perfect home base for us while we explored nearby San Juan and the eastern side of the island.
I don't think they said anything about rock climbing (I wonder if it's banned now).. The back side is much steeper and back-in-the-day there were fixed tie down bolts high up on the back side. Some guys would go there at night and hook up and lean back in their climbing harness, so that you could only see the sky. As the stars came up slowly over the rock and over your head it seemed like you were flying the rock. Rock pilots were warned to always make a smooth landing.....
@@CuzBarnaJuner that sounds amazing! I bet it’s so pretty out there at night. I read that you can still free climb within the park, you just can’t place bolts.
We are visiting Puerto Rico in March for two day pre-cruise sightseeing. Great video. More importantly, where did you get that adorable hat and white capris? I need them in my suitcase asap! 😊
@@GinaKowal-p2d ooooh so exciting! Y’all will have a great time! 😊 The hat is from Target! I got it several years ago but they probably have something similar still. The white pants are from Quince (you can just google Quince European Linen Pants and they’ll come up!). Word of warning, they aren’t double lined so you have to wear full coverage, nude undies so they aren’t see through 😅
We are going to Grand Teton & Yellowstone mid September 2024. Thanks for both videos and your "pack with me". All were very helpful and beautifully done.
Thank you, that means a lot to me! 😊 I’m glad you enjoyed them. Mid September will be a great time to visit Yellowstone and Grand Teton! They are both such beautiful places.
Thank you for the video and the tips. We're planning to stay at the Hyatt Regency and visit El Junge. I wonder when you visited one of the bio-bays, did you visit during a moonless night? Unfortunately, our family is planning to visit in October during a half-moon time frame. I wonder if it's worth making the trip to Viques to see that if we're not gonna be able to see anything during half-moon phase.
@@Golfina19 thanks for watching! You’ll love the Hyatt Regency - it was great. So I was actually worried about this too so I kept my expectations low. We weren’t too keen on making the trip over to Vieques when we weren’t sure if we would see much, which is why we decided to go to Laguna Grande instead. The moon phase when we visited was a waxing crescent (it was on May 13th), and the bioluminescence was very bright. I’m not sure it matters too much because pretty much all of the kayak tours will throw a tarp over the group to block out any remaining light anyway so you can really see the bioluminescence up close. That being said, even without the tarp I could see it very clearly. If you’re on the fence about it, I recommend checking it out at Laguna Grande so you don’t have to worry about staying overnight on Vieques (unless you want to!). 😄
@@KelseyStyron THANK YOU! for making the video! These travel videos make other people's lives so much easier when planning a trip somewhere. Really appreciate all the tips.
Thank you for watching! It’s a beautiful island. For sure, I’d be happy to share and break it down! Please keep in mind you can visit Puerto Rico for MUCH cheaper than we did - we definitely spoiled ourselves as we were celebrating 10 years together. 😊 Hotel (5 nights): Booked with points so we paid $0. Without points: $1,181.56 Hotel Food, Resort Fees, Parking, etc: $848.87 Flights (2 people, business class): $2,203.20 (If you fly economy, you can pay less than half of that cost) Car: Booked with points so we paid $0. Without points: $457.39 Other food, gifts, entrance fees, etc: $286 Tolls: $29.80 Total cost we paid for 2 people: $3,367.87 I hope this helps!
Angel Fire is our family's absolute favorite ski resort. Both our boys learned to ski there and like you said, on weekdays when you have the slopes to yourselves you cannot beat it!
@@Pmack1975 that’s awesome, it’s such a great place to learn! I think I would’ve felt more nervous / intimidated to learn if we had went to a larger resort.
@@wannabeadventures the waterfall isn’t directly on the Cedar Bluff Trail, it’s actually on the Skyline Trail. But from AllTrails I think those two trails might connect, and I thiiiink the waterfall itself isn’t too far from the Cedar Bluff trail! 😄
What a fantastic trip to Puerto Rico! Your 4-day itinerary is packed with amazing activities. Exploring Old San Juan, hiking in El Yunque, and visiting the Bioluminescent Bay sound absolutely incredible. Your tips on where to stay, renting a car, and navigating the island are super helpful. Puerto Rico is such a beautiful destination, and you really captured its essence. Can't wait to visit and explore more of the island myself. Thanks for sharing! Cheers, Simon - Tales From Abroad
Thank you for this great vid. I just came back from a southern Utah trip at the major national parks and had a great time. This hike looks like fun and definitely worth it. Your vid was informative and beautiful! Thanks!
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed the video! 😊 Oh that sounds like a great trip, Southern Utah is the best! I’m hoping to make it back out there soon. There’s so much to explore in Utah.
If there’s a next time… go to the beaches on the north in Arecibo or Barceloneta; or go to Vieques or Culebra, where you’ll find white sand beaches. Btw in the south you’ll find black sand beaches. ✌🏼
Ooh thank you for the info! 🙏🏼 I’m sure there will definitely be a next time. We originally had a trip to Culebra planned out, but our plans changed last minute. I’d love to go back and check out the beaches more 🏝️
So if you’re doing the Skyline Trail, it’s pretty far to get to the waterfall. However, there’s another trail you can take called the Friends Trail Loop that’s only 1 1/2 miles that will take you to the same waterfall! If you search “Friends Trail Loop” on AllTrails you should be able to find it!
Wow! That’s impressive! I would love to go back and explore even a fraction of that 😅 Is there any particular area of the Furnace that’s your favorite?
Excellent video! Thank you for posting. I've watched a handful of videos for this hike, and yours is the best. I really like your commentary. I have alarms set for when permits become available for October 2024. After watching your video and learning more about exploring the dead ends, I'm more inclined to do a self-guided hike rather than with a ranger.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it and that it was helpful! 😄 That is awesome, October will be a beautiful time of year for you to go. I might be biased, but I really think self-guided is the way to go if you’re already an avid hiker. It’s nice to not feel rushed and just enjoy the surroundings.
You are brave. I do a lot of hiking in Texas but I would be too scared to hike in Colorado because of bears. I never want to see one ever. 😅 Thank you for putting out all the beautiful videos of your hikes.
Thank you for watching, I’m glad you enjoy my videos! 😄 I’m from Texas too so it did take me a few hikes to get used to it. I don’t worry about black bears, but am definitely more aware when we hike in grizzly country. Having bear spray and a bigger group will make you feel more comfortable.
I felt like that when i started riding. After over 12 years I can ride forever now without being tired even at elevation. Just keep it up. It keeps you super healthy. Just stay off the jumps!
12 years - that’s awesome! 👏🏼 I love cardio but mountain biking has a way of making me feel out of shape 😅 My husband loves the jumps, but I avoid them lol.
I do all these things and they work for me . I download movies which I have already watched so I dont have to give much thought to the movie scenes going on . I prefer comedy movies .
That’s a great idea! I try to stick with comedies as well. I can also do drama or action / adventure. I definitely don’t want to watch anything stressful when I’m flying though 😅
@@KelseyStyronwatching action / adventure is stressful for me as sudden vfx sounds will come as a shock to me lol . I can’t think of travelling in flight that is more than 1.5 hrs long .
@@amitbhatt3252 I totally get that! I’ve started a movie before and then changed it because it was just too much on the plane lol. Most of my flights tend to be around 3 hours which I don’t find bad at all.
@@amitbhatt3252 it’s definitely might! I have to have the window seat when I fly, it really helps to ground yourself and get an idea of what’s going on. Is there a particular reason you can pinpoint why you think you couldn’t do a longer flight?
It took us about 6 hours from what I can remember, but we stopped a lot for pictures and video! I think you can definitely do it in 4 hours or so. March is a great time to go! Warm days and cold nights. I highly recommend booking a place with a hot tub if you can!
I don’t disagree! It’s extremely hard to live joyfully when you’re living paycheck to paycheck. I struggled for several years and it massively sucked. It’s an amazing feeling when you finally have money left at the end of every month. 😌
An update on the Calpak case✨ I packed it in my carry on last month and it was perfect! I did my liquids in one side and my powder cosmetics in another, and I had no issues with leakage or TSA. 😊
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for just getting straight to the point! You have no idea how refreshing that is. I was expecting 9 minutes of introduction and 1 minute of content! Great tips and great products
I loooove the cosmetics case! I had it on my list for months before finally deciding to get it 😅 I can see why they’re popular! And the contact cases are such a lifesaver with how much space they save 🙌🏼 thanks for the comment 🫶🏻
Great video, Kelsey! I can personally say that I have lost my airpods so many times (luckily they've always turned up). Packing cubes and tech pouches are also my favourite. Great video!
Thank you! 🙏🏼 I have thankfully not lost my AirPods (yet…), but I have dropped them plenty of times while flying and it never ceases to give me a heart attack lol.
Great video! Many people don't know about the beautiful scenery in Oklahoma - such as the Broken Bow Lake/Beaver's Bend State Park. With forested mountains and clear running streams it's different from most parts of the state. Other scenic Oklahoma areas are the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge in Southwest Oklahoma, Turner Falls in the South Central and Talimena Scenic Drive north of Broken Bow extending into Arkansas. Oklahoma scenery will surprise many people!
Absolutely! Oklahoma is gorgeous and I feel like a lot of people don’t realize it until they visit. We have spent so many summer days up at Turner Falls, it’s one of my favorite places! I’ve also explored the Wichita Mountains (but need to visit again). We went to Arkansas recently but unfortunately didn’t get a chance to do the Talimena Scenic Drive. It looks beautiful though.
