Hi! You can learn about that in the guide, I just added a link in the Description. The blue disc is a planetary gear box, and it is there to multiply the torque while reducing the rotary speed of the M200 motor.
Hi Tony once again)) Currently I am building same project as you did. But I am replacing the brush with 6inch polishing pad. From your experience do you think the M200 is strong enough for commercial use? I mean this will be used for real Rov work, and I see that it has small size compared to other models on the market which is 3 times larger? Many thanks for your support ❤

FYI Did you know that with a Technician Class amatuer radio license (easy 35 question test) you can play around in the 2.4Ghz (13cm) band with up to 1500 watts of power? From a cliff top with a Yagi, you could drive that boat right off the edge of the world.
Hi! With a YAGI directional antenna, I was able to maintain good communications to 1km, with some packets getting through as far away as 1.2km. With a lower gain, flat-panel antenna I was keeping good communications to ~600m, with some packets getting through as far away as 800m. WiFi is a great option for high bandwidth, short range usage of the BlueBoat - I primarily use 4G connection for vehicle control and WiFi for Sonar control / monitoring.
Cool, 1.2 km is more than I expected as the weather conditions were rough and the waves will probably shield some of the signal. I can’t wait for my own Blueboat. What kind of LTE modem are you using? I had in mind to use the CAT6 LTE HAT for the raspberry with a external marine antenna.
@@Yannik123-f5k The Pi has the GPIO already occupied by the Navigator, so using such a hat is not possible. Blue Robotics is developing an upgrade kit, it will likely use a USB, search Amazon for "EXVIST 4G LTE Dongle W/ EC25-AF Mini PCIe Modem W/SIM Card Slot" Configuration is easy, just need to set the APN via serial command - which will one day be possible via BlueOS GUI!

Just out of curiosity, what is the intended purpose for this brush? Cleaning boats? It seems to work pretty well, though oddly noisy, is it orbiting as well as spinning? If not something is rubbing pretty hard lol.
