Yes the general route should be, but some of the PBCs might be extra diffcult, if not impossible (like the railing clip very first thing in the run). I don't really have any experience with console, but if you join the discord we have a few runners that play on xbox that would be more than happy to help you out! Can find the link to discord on the speedrun.com page
For Moon, I think you'd just need to do all of Moon 1 (it's not too long tbh, 5-10 min) and rick skip you'd need to go through Fogged Expanse, Imperial Base & Summit ridge (probs another 10minutes). I don't think there is any way to skip that Imperial Base fight without that PBL. I'd like to do a full restricted run of this category at some point (no PBLs)
There is a cave in Untamed Downs on Koboh, right next to the mud slide from Bygone Settlement. In my run I use a PBC (basically just dodging & pressing F11) to clip through the blocked door. If you don't want to glitch through it, there should be a group of roller mines near a hangar also in Untamed Downs, close to the path to Boiling Bluffs. You can force pull of of these guys & have them follow you to that blocked door, and then force push the roller mine into the door to break it.
What is the purpose of the out of bounds sections around 3:06:00 and 3:10:00? Do they have some triggers or something that you didn't get due to skipping those parts of the story?
I use mostly the same settings that GameGuy specifies in the start of this tutorial (route is now outdated): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nbV-pfUGP-s.htmlsi=O6rKVXyqmp8pBnsK
Great run! I really liked how you used PE to save the run twice, once at tower rope and once after tower launch. I should be trying that more instead of resetting. Also great job on getting Nekko tame skip and dev screen skip. I've got dev screen downish, how are you doing the Nekko skip? You seem to have it down to muscle memory already, meanwhile I have a notepad with the combos up and still never get it lol
Thanks! Yea I've been feeling pretty confident with PE lately so those "freestyled" PEs aren't actually too bad to get down. I just like looking straight down so I can see how high I go easier. & that was the first time I ever got Nekko tame cancel, haha I suprised myself. Dev screen is a lot easier after the most recent setup was shared. I probably get that 50-75% of the time now. Guess I need to practice Mantis clip for a few hours 😅
Great attempts! The run that starts at 41:10 was crazy! That ideal forest gate launch was nice! Its pretty wild to me how you're doing PE, it seems like with how fast you're having to F11 you have almost no window to react. My reaction time is pretty bad I feel like, so idk if you've tried doing double F11's but the extra lag really helps lengthen the window to push out, if that works for you!
Great run! Nice save on the 2nd PE! This is going to be hard to beat for sure. I've gotta try the Relter/Nekko Pools PE, but I just can't get there in runs.
I'd definitely recommend practicing that Nekko Pools PE w/ CE. The freeze frames are a bit trickier to judge when to push than Cable skip, and the void planes being everywhere in that area also doesn't help
Lol, well technically you don't have to, it'd just be a much longer run lol. In the early days of routing 100% the runs were about 15hours long. We realized pretty early that unlocking & visiting Tanalorr early updates the game into unlocking new planets/areas, abilities & other stuff like that. For example, it unlocks Nova Garon, which means we don't have to go through the 'forced' section of the game where you race Bode & play as Cere (saving like 20-30 minutes alone). If you're interested in learning more details about the run, feel free to join the speedrunning discord (can find link on speedrun.com)! We have a few documents for 100% routing which you can follow yourself or use to come up with your own route!
@umarrazvi oh yea I plan too. I rerouted & PBed with a 9:22:xx time last weekend but it was a really messy run. Waiting to get a cleaner run with that route before posting, but I'll probs be trying another run this weekend
Amazing work. I just completed my first speedrun of this category. I wish there were separate categories for the different difficulties. Story Mode is sooo boring so I did my run on Jedi Master. Looking forward to catching you live sometime. G G
Thanks! Since the glitchless run isn't that heavily focused on combat, and more so on movement, that's why there isn't a difficulty split. It was also done this way for JFO. There have been talks about adding an "All Story Bosses" category, which would require you to run on JGM. No one has ran it yet, which is why it has not added to the leader boards. if you join the discord and show some interest in that route, then that would show mods that there actually is a reason to add it, and that the leader board just won't sit empty
Probably gonna take a break from this game for a bit. I want to get a 100% run done and plan to eventually go for All Story Bosses / All Bosses JGM. All progressions abilities also sounds like a fun route
ah good shout. Weird, my live stream this was from also doesn't have any audio. Thanks for letting me know, and a shame that this is now invalid haha. I know I can do better tho
one tip i have for the footwork launch at 16 minute mark, you gotta stand closer to the rock than you’d think. your lineup is perfect but try standing a decent amount closer and you’ll get higher jumps more consistently.
@JimmyJurasek Haha yea after this run I went back and practiced that bit and realized I was way too far out. Was on a sub 36 pace the other day but Mantis clip exists haha
@@rparqerlol. nova garon was still pretty quick tho, you skipped the majority of it. good thing u were able to still talk to that ISB agent to open the door to bodes crib. i bet there’s just some more out of bounds exploration to do to find a faster route
how come you hit some med points in the later third of the run, like around the time of the electro dart? is it just a fail safe in case you have to respawn?
Yea, generally If I'm grabbing a med point that I don't fast travel to later its because of potential softlocks. For example, I grab the one at Khri's Lab before Rayvis because sometimes I've respawned inside the room with the locked door when trying the Koboh Matter skip. Also sometimes during the first fight at Imperial Post (after electro-dart) the game will still think I'm in a fight and won't let me talk to the Stormtrooper to progress (pretty sure this happens if you aggro the security guard droid before the med point)
Also to note: I grab the Pyloon Saloon med point early in order to unlock Fast Travel when I get to Igneous Fissure. You need to grab 2 med points in Koboh to unlock fast travel
@@rparqer gotcha. yeah i noticed you discovered some more efficient fast travel opportunities. especially the post rayvis fast travel back to landing pad
@ultdat lol there's stuff in this game that took me way too long to figure out. Did you know you can dive with a Relter to speed up (RT)? Also found out that you can force push groups of enemies by just holding RT, found that out way too late haha
ive been trying your route myself a little bit, at timestamp 33:15 where you cross the bridge and do that wallrun, I think you might be able to skip the wallrun and jump the gap. could possibly even do it without turning on the bridge? or maybe im misremembering and I failed that when i tried. Idk. just a note.
Yea I've been meaning to practice that area because I've been thinking the same. I tried it once in a run and it didn't work but that doesn't mean there wouldn't be a way to save some time there
@@rparqer i feel like this speedrun category has a lot of potential. the aerial dash strike strategy can probably be used in a lot of other places. and each run of yours gets smoother than the last
@jimmy j thanks man, I'm probably done with this until the load remover gets developed. Think I'm gonna work towards getting a 100% save and start routing for NJ+ :)
@jimmy j if you aren't in the discord, you should definitely join. New tech is still being found, some of which I haven't even tried to implement into this yet. Some difficult dual Saber tech and balloon jump/dash reset are two seemingly useful ones
not sure if your graphics just dont show the sparks, but you know you can speed up on the ziplines? on PC i hold mouse1 and BD1 goes turbo mode on the zipline. not sure what button it would be on controller, but its free time save if you dont know about that
in the opening sequence of the game, if you walk in front of the people holding you captive, i guess it’s gibbs and bravo, they can kinda push you forward so you walk faster. u can see that in action in the any% w glitches run if you want
@@rparqer nice, i’m just gonna wait for you to upload that then before i watch the whole run 😂 the glitch runs are cool to watch, but i’m glad there’s glitchless runs. it’s cool to just see someone play as fast as they can without just like clipping through a wall and being done in half an hour.
Excited to see the techniques that will develop to get the time down. I feel like this game has a lot of things to experiment with to make for some creative speedrunning innovations.
Yes, definitely. There are lots of interesting routing opportunities given the fact that main quests alone don't give enough XP for level 24. WR right now I believe is around 4hr28min, but I believe he thinks sub 4 is possible, just with a better route.
