Amy please continue with your interest lately to RAMSAR wetlands in Puerto Villamil and Tintorera islet SE Isabela Galápagos "subspecies" Marine Iguana. Interested in your 2023 March population statistics within study area of Galápagos Archipelago. Cheers Claudia
OK, so DJI have finally responded to me and, after analysing both video footage & flight data logs suggested the following: "We get the analysis result from our engineers. Basically from your videos and logs, the way that RC signals drop indicates something obstructing the remote controller and the aircraft. For example, checking the position ball (see picture), your aircraft is pointed toward the back of the remote controller. Also, we observed that your flight height is relatively low. We would recommend you fly higher. Chances are that the aircraft will be obstructed by surroundings, by this the transmission range will be thus affected. Would you please test again? If the issue persists, you may send it back to the dealer." ------------------------------------------------------------- My response to this is was as follows: "Ok, great, thanks for getting back and taking time to analyse this, much appreciated. It's very hot in UK today/tomorrow but will try going back to similar location later in the week and get it up to say 100m to see how it performs it then. Regarding position ball / aircraft position noticed that this sometimes appears to get "stuck" somehow but have seen others suggesting that RC compass may need recalibrating, so will also do this to see if it improves the range. I did a quick flight yesterday with new FW 1.6.9 and felt a marginal improvement. Will report back later in the week. Pls pass on my thanks to your engineers for looking into this for me - much appreciate them taking the time and making the effort.

As of today (2nd May) it would appear that Argos have pulled that listing (likely temporarily until actual drone release date, rumoured to be 10th May) from both these self-service terminals as well as their online catalogue page. P.S. One of my UK-based reseller contacts suggested they are now taking pre-orders for the Mini 2 and release date is going to be the 10th May (at least that's what they've been told by DJI).
Thanks Benn, much appreciated. Even more so, given that it was YOU who initially taught me - then fully manual - RC-flying skills back in 2013/14. And now look, the Ai bots are taking over, slowly...
Wow that’s amazing video with beautiful morning view that I enjoyed a lot, thanks for sharing, I got another newly uploaded video and hope u enjoy too :)
Thank you for the kind note, really appreciated - I much like the poetric, special light quality of misty mornings. Also nice being reminded that the sun shines above the clouds... Will check your video out too!
solid piloting for some reason couldnt adjust the quality of the video so was stuck at about 720p dunno if its just on my part or the video but thought should know
Back in 1986 I was here nearly every day over the summer. Could go round in low 50's - 54 I think. Good old days. Very fond memories of central park P&P. Good to see it still being used and loved.
It's absolutely true that the Mini 2 is coming in the next week or so, we know that for sure based on the number of leaks long before now. Unfortunately off-shore chat agents will often just say whatever the customer wants to hear, some time ago GoPro told us that the Karma 2 will be out in the coming week...that was a year ago and GoPro even responded to our video to clarify that the agent was talking b***** :)
Pleasure. Thought best from the Horse's mouth. Regardless of that, some suggested it's "easy to to a fake webpage / chat". Sadly, got no time & patience for that - the vid is 100% real / true, the chat from lunchtime today. The doubters can stay doubters...
I would say about 350 meters either side (I was in the middle). Am sure it would go a bit further, maybe up to 600m, but didn't want to chance it. Frankly, after 350m LOS this thing becomes hardly visible and you maybe need to get it back with RTH. One thing I noticed during RTH is that you can actually yaw it in any direction, so not too bad! Someone did a mod with external battery and amplified antenna and achieved 7.6 km - video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ixJynC4VKrs.html
Thank you Benn. One big flaw is the weak signal of the CE / European version. I would recommend getting a FCC version with an apparent much wider range. See here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uaNp-vJmRww.html&feature=emb_logo So, that bit is quite disappointing tbh!
Thank you so much love this happy memories of walking my Labrador Oscar some years back on the Chase with the horses I miss this so much walking over the Chase as I have now moved out the area miss embark so much.
A nice aerial view. Being a regular there I sometimes forget just how much walking I do. I like to walk around the park's perimeter and then proceed to take on a few laps of fels fields. Now I will not feel so guilty about the odd time I eat a whole packet of Jaffa cakes on the park bench haha.
+BarryVP12 Thank you for the comment and pleasure. If you've enjoyed that vid, you may also like these ones: www.dagenhamchaselnr.org.uk/about/arial.php With the weather getting better now, plenty of opportunity to stroll around - as long as you don't forget your Jaffa's. ;-)
+Markus Krebsz No problem. The music is a good choice, too. It's very gentle. I'll make sure not to forget that important component haha; I'll check out your other ones. Thanks.
+dragon121978 Hi there, it's a Diatone ET200 frame with Blade 200QX motors, 20A mini ESC and CC3D FC and 2s batts. Having said that, my next build will be a HMB-180 frame with full Quanum v2 PFV set up. Little spring project...
Hi John, to date I've been flying self-built micro quads, starting with basswood (i.ytimg.com/vi/QP6FXW2R-C8/maxresdefault.jpg) and more recently carbon fibre frames (www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2393382&page=18) Happy flying - might bump into you one day. Cheers, Markus
I wanted to see how dense the trees were here for adequate dog walking territory and couldn't tell, looking at google maps. This video served as a very good UAV recon scouting operation. Cheers.
maxwell Thanks for your comment, glad you've enjoyed it. Watch this space as I will be filming/uploading more short clips of the Eastbrookend Country Park and Chase Nature Reserve over the summer months. Also, take a look at the following website that has everything about the parks incl. map, recent sightings and Park ranger activities: www.dagenhamchaselnr.org.uk/home/index.php Enjoy!
Benn Pople Thank you so much Mr Pople. It's all your "fault" literally: without you I wouldn't be flying - or ever having even considered building the WooDrone. Cheers, M
Hi Jon, Thank you for your interesting question: in all honesty, with great difficulty - it's a challenge getting the balance right between flying too low (resulting in mediocre vistas) and too high (with the danger of loosing the plane.) Please do keep in mind that the fish eye lens makes it look probably higher than it actually is. In order to solve both, I will be getting the big Radian and a Moebius cam in due course - allowing both flying higher and getting better resolution vids. Hope that helps/answers and best regards, Markus
