The title of this is a tour. You barely showed us the place. How about videoing everything inside and out and showing us the entire facilities while you talk?
@@davearnold731I do agree this video is not as good as some of our newer ones. In the future I’ll make sure to show more of the spaces for longer and show less of us talking. Thank you for your feedback Dave.
@@beachyphotoandfilm You are beautiful and I loved all of your talking, every word. We could have heard your talk while getting great long views of everything on the grounds. Thanks for listening.
I want to do wildlife, especially bird photography. I have a small budget of ~2k. Should I go with something like a Sony A6700 or a Canon R8 or anything else??
I love both systems and both are so good now so I think you would be fine either way. I like canons menus better that’s why I switched back to canon. But maybe pick what lens you want first then the camera body
I’m conflicted, I currently run a similar set up to you and used to primarily be a Wedding Photo and Film. But have transitioned into more corporate side of things, I haven’t switched to Sony yet but much of what I do now is video and I just feel like making the switch might be the play for me in a new market. I love Canon for weddings for color, look and ease. But I find in a new space many shooters are Sony and Lens options are more vast… ahhhh
Yaa that makes a lot of sense moving to sony for video, if i only did video i think i would do sony also. they definitely have a better lens selection and third party lenses which is awesome
You made the wrong choice, for wedding photography video, the current Canon bodies are fine for stills, a Panasonic S5 IIX would be just what you need for video compared to expensive Sony bodies and lenses.
Sort of agree, i ended up switching back to canon i have another video on it. I just feel at home with canon after using it for so long now. i just wish they had a better 35 rf prime
@@beachyphotoandfilmNikon Z system have some great prime lens collection tbh and also they are open for 3rd party lens. But AF is one concern in Nikon
When you get older you’ll hopefully be able to appreciate the totality of what any decision brings, so that you don’t feel as if you’re holding your noise to vote. If Sony is best for you, it’s silly to make excuses for it. Mine is not a political comment, however the same concept applies to both politics and camera platforms. If you’re getting the results you need overall -- given the available alternatives -- then be reasonable happy and live without regrets. The rest is just mental masturbation.
Those train shots are epic! Are you still using your A7R5? looks like you were shooting canon for this wedding. Edit: Just saw your other video about sticking with Canon! Good call, honestly RU-vidrs went crazy for Sony because of eye autofocus when filming themselves on a tripod. Working with a camera in the field is a different story. Canon have the most user friendly and intuitive cameras imo. Have you considered the RF 28-70 f2L... that lens alone is as much as the A7R5 but could be amazing for your work as a one and done option.
Thank you that train came at just the right time!! But yes working with canon in the field is so much easier for me, on paper sony probably wins but in my heart I like using canon more haha! I’ve looked at the 28-70 but havnt tried it out but I totally agree it would be an awesome addition to the wedding kit!
I think influencers are biased towards Sony. I think you found out first hand that Sony and Canon are very close and there's not a clear one above the rest. I think many of influencers are secretly sponsored/supported by Sony judging by how positively they review Sony. But in my real world experience I think the new Canon RF system is amazing and on par, and in some things better than Sony. I love my R6, and I chose it over the A7IV because the R6 has better IBIS, better low light performance, better ergonomics and weather sealing, better SOOC files for editing, and better button layouts and menu. For casual shooting the R6 and RF35 are perfect, I also love my L RF70-200.
Yes I could not agree more. Sony has done a good job of bringing the youtube community together to love the haha making some bias reviews. I think it really comes down to what your comfortable with because both systems are amazing. But I couldnt agree more. I shoot most my weddings with the rf 35, 50, and 70-200
Yes I also agree , i have had the chance to compare some and I don’t think it is as much difference as they say that it is .In some reviews canon kills it still some youtubers say that sony is better ! I think they both are perfect cameras .
first of all what you are saying is right , some Influencers are paid to promote Sony, that's just one side of a Coin. The real reason why all switch to Sony WHY ? simple reason, endless third party lens support. In Canon you either have to buy low quality 1.8 lenses or you have to spend hell lot of money for 1.2 L Glass and 2.8 L glass ( Zooms ). In Sony they have native 1.4 Lenses pretty affordable also 2.8 G series Zooms pretty cheap they are, on the top of all these there are tons of great options with Sigma, Tamron, Viltrox , Samyang ..etc . Canon 85 1.2 L costs whopping 2799 USD whereas Sigma 85 1.4 DG DN costs 1100 USD .. This is where Sony wins over Canon. Fujifilm also opens their mount to third party and Fuji users are so damn happy. Common Canon it's not Sony. It's Canon itself destroying their Market.
Cool venue, seems pretty decent for photography! Do you personally run photography only, or do you also shoot video clips? What's the division of tasks for you?
Great question! I will make a full video on how we do it but basically my wife does all the video for a highlight film for the couple and I shoot all the photos
You made a clip where you talk a lot about nothing. You know I use Canon and I switched to Sony and I didn't like it, although the AF was better, but it doesn't matter, I like Canon. why do you hate sony? What didn't you like about Sony? What's better than Canon "nothing, only on the video side, probably" I bought a ferrari but I went back to the Wv golf 6 because I didn't know how to start the Ferrari, too many buttons. I am used to the Golf 6. Go to the doctor
I have the A7SIII and the Canon R5. Honestly the IBIS and image from the Canon R5 is so good that I tend to reach for it more than my Sony. I do think Sony is way better on dynamic range in Slog3 oppose to Clog3. I have way more control over my highlights and doesn’t clip. The Canon R5 is terrible on the highlights. No room to pull them down in Davinci. Still do the Canon R5. They both have there strengths and weaknesses. Keep both is my opinion. You don’t have to only do one system. One more thing Sony may have third party lenses but the majority of there FE lenses don’t have OSS while almost every RF lens has IS.
i did not notice much but i ended up going back to canon after not much time lol! I just work better and feel more confident with my canon. I am sure if i used sony for longer i could work the same but i just did not feel like investing the time into that
I have also been using Backblaze for years. Peace of mind for a reasonable price. btw, I think that Creative Pebble speaker with the volume knob should be the right one :)
I have a R6, I think I will be switching to the Sony A7 IV. I want the new Sigma 50mm f1.4 ART lens. And I don't want to wait like 5 years for Canon to get it. I really regret not buying that Sony A7 III in late 2018 for a good deal from a friend. Canon is great but they have taken their status as n0.1 for granted for so long its gross.
I think there are adapters to allow you to adapt your Canon lens to Sony, that could lessen the hit of getting into Sony. At least EF lens from what I’ve seen. There are also 3rd party lens that cost a lot less that can be used on Sony.
Ya I ended up switching back to canon I just liked the user experience better. But I got a good deal when I bought the Sony and tamron lens and ended up making my money back off of selling it
I've been shooting Sony my whole photo career and owned 6 sony bodies over time. Just got the sony a7rV 2 months ago and have loved shooting on it ever since! I would actually love to have a Canon body like the R3 / R5, and there are things that appeal to me there, but I've already invested in the Sony ecosystem. You'll probably have to get used to it more, but I hope you enjoy using it as time goes! Filesize wise, you can shoot Medium Raw if you want - it outputs an average of 45 megabyte files at what's rated to be 26 megapixel images. But it's been tested to make better pics than natively 26mp camera's and apparently does slightly better low light than the normal raw. 3rd party lenses are great, and I own Sigma, Tamron and Samyang lenses. There are certain G Master lenses that are better than the 3rd party equivalents, but there are particular 3rd party lenses that are also quite up there and very comparable.
Thanks for the comment! I ended up selling it and going back to canon lol! I honestly just love using the canon system so much. I really feel Sony was the better camera and had better lenses but it just wasn’t worth it to me in the end. Going to make another video on it soon
