Yes were a very vibrant and adventurous band in the 70's even scary and dangerous at times balanced with summer sweet vibes. They have been my favourite band for 45 years and I thonk they will remain so as no one has come close to them since.

It touches all parts of her artistry. It's incapsulated in every aspect of delivery, tone of voice, tempo, choice of lyrics, scales of music, intentions of the story, body language and even, the important ingredient to had surprise, wich is essential to keep the listener on its toes until the end. I can listen to this song a million times and it feels like I am listening to it for the first time every time. The first line grabs your attention, your heart, instantly. It is written about a situation many of us have unfortunately been in and is very relatable. Lara has said she wrote this song while she lay crying on her bathroom floor. She wrote it while she was at her most vulnerable moment. She relives and shares that moment with us every time she sings it. Thank you for reacting to this song. Nothing like a live performance and even with the poor acoustics and the limited recording equipment at the time the talent of the band shines through. The album version is off the charts and so much cleaner and well defined, but from this performance you get the picture.

The music of Broken Vow was co-composed by Walter Afanassiev and Lara Fabian. Walter Afanassiev, an american/brazilian from russian descent, is a legendary composer and producer. He co-composed some of the greatest initial hits of Mariah Carey such as All I Want for Christmas is You or Hero. And he was the producer of the Titanic soundtrack that increased Celine Dion WW fame. He also had produced a song for Dimash among others. When this song was composed, Walter and Lara were engaged, they were living in San Francisco’s bay area, but apparently he cheated and she decided to break up. When she took this decision, that she knew would dramatically change both her personal and professional destiny, she wrote these incredible lyrics. Lara has said this is her preferred english song from all the songs she wrote in this language (there are many, and some are pure jewels). Yes, Steve is underrated -- even tho he won the Best Overall Guitarist in Guitar Player magazine FIVE years straight!! -- beating out the likes of Jimmy Page and Van Halen!! -- he's still rarely mentioned by the media. (and this Best Overall Guitarist category capped the individual categories of Rock, Metal, Country, Jazz, R&B and Classical - so ALL guitarists from the whole music spectrum were considered for this award!! - and Steve was the one that got it 5x) For a cleaner - and far superior performance you need to listen to the studio version. The only bands that were influences of Yes were from the 60s like the Beatles and the prog legends King Crimson. Yes developed a sound that was completely their own. I get that you do reactions to live performances but, when doing live reactions to Yes you will miss the nuances to the music writing and unique studio techniques, their masterful transitions. And worse is that the recording/video quality of most of their 70's performances were substandard. Anyway, thanks for your positive reaction to this wondrous band.
For me the best guitar solo of all time, not so much the technique, but the most emotional. You float on this cloud of sound and are taken on a journey.
