Perhaps many of you do not know that Flo was the idol of the greatest, and even more spectacular player of the XX century (at least to me) Mireya Luis.
Hope He gives anyone beside D smith a chance to start at QB. That kid is simply not the long term answer, and wont be a star in the pros either. We've seen his ceiling IMO, and I think we need to start fresh with that position, just as we're rebuilding throughout the majority of the rest of the team.
It's his last year anyway so ofc he's not the future. That said I don't see him getting replaced this season. But Fritz is recruiting some promising QB's for our future classes. Future is bright.
This was posted 7 months ago and I feel like he’s been here years with as much as he’s gotten accomplished already without even having seen a snap of football. Super excited
Hoping Coach Fritz can pick this program back up. It's gonna get harder to recruit with all that $$$ & hype flowing through the media darling conferences. Hoping some young folks still have pride in Houston.
I think we should have at least a 9-10 man rotation, IMO, because most likely, injuries will occur later in the season and it might be tougher to try and bring someone up-to-speed in the tourney if they haven't played much throughout the year.
IO love the way these coaches developed confidence in Marcus Sasser and Emanual Sharp! It seemed that Shead had it quietly in himself from the start but wow, last year! There are NOT 10 PGs ahead of Jamal Shead.
We need to add some extra dimensions to our offensive scheme. Maybe look at UCONN for some ideas. We have everything else, defense, rebounding, determination. The only thing lacking and that will cause us problems against the top 5 teams in the country in the Tourney will be the reliance on ISO - that can go cold or be shut down. Just like coach said, for Jamal to be drafted, he has to be good on BOTH ends, defense and offense. I think for UH to win it all, we need to be good on BOTH ends, not just defense. We have the talent to do it, but we must be willing to change and do something different on offense, not TOTALLY different, but more options need to be added or we will probably never make it past the Elite Eight. We can keep doing what we have been doing and have some level of success, but then I think we will struggle against the Miami's and Villanova's of the world in the Tourney b/c we need more options for the players on offense.
