Easiest way to prime it, is to pour about a litre of the tank water into the body. Then pour another litre keeping the level right at the top. It will fill the intake tube without the hassle of holding your finger on it usually.
Personally have have had excellent longevity with their powerheads and return pumps for years and years. Still have many and they all work. All are 10 years old or longer now.Powerheads are 4200ghr variable speed and 4500ghr. and some older 3200ghr.

do not buy this lighting I bought less than 3 months ago and it stopped working and I have no response from nicrew a disregard with the consumer I paid a high price to have a beautiful aquarium and the result is boredom and frustration.
