As a descendent of one of those captured at Fort Donelson, I see Floyd and Pillow as men who should have never been in command of anything including cleaning out an outhouse.
Some points The battle is called Wilson’s Creek but took place along Wilson creek. This was the first campaign of the war, starting before the Bulls Run campaign and was the second major battle in time, second confederate victory. Missouri did pass articles of succession in government in exile.
Convenient how they left out the part where Lincoln ordered flotillas of soldiers to invade a southern state prior to the war beginning. SC told the Union leadership that they would consider a landing of soldiers to be an act of war as it would be reinforcing a position that shut down their port. Effectively, the Union tried to seize South Carolina's port...again, for money. The Union Naval commander disagreed with Lincoln's order from his cabinet as it would kick off a civil war. The Army commander, a Major, disobeyed the Naval commander and landed the troops kicking off the battle. So no, the South didn't fire the first shots. The north unlawfully seized a port by force of arms.
It was NOT a revolution, it was a US invasion of a sovereign territory, the US first insisted the British give them Oregon, the British said "come and get it if u can." the US declined the offer and INSTEAD invaded Texas, this was NOT a war of freedom, quite the contrary, the US were the invaders !
As a Missouri armchair historian I offer a couple thoughts. Show only period relevant photos. Stay objective in your narrative. Missouri had the second most battles of the civil war. Missouri was accepted by the confederacy and represents the 12th star on the flag.
160 plus years later and we’re still balls deep in yankee propaganda telling us they didn’t participate in slavery and didn’t start a war because they were about to lose 90% of the federal government’s revenue if SC seceded. It was about money. Stop being a tool.
The Union left Lyon's body behind they had to return and steal it and then buried it in John Phelps garden when the retreated. It eventually went to his family in Connecticut.
to my knowledge helmets were common in American and European cavalry units.. note the charge of the Light Brigade .. 1850's certain American units had them too ...
Looks more like the Hessians or Prussians fought with the North. I think it was at the battle of the River of Blood. The Germans held the line along the 13th and 14th fairways where they dealt the South the most concentration of causalities while the South had initially forged the Potomac. They were pushed back by the Duetsche soldiers dressed in Blue into the river stained red with rebel blood. US History 201 from Trump University curriculum, lectures, and textbooks. And MAGA morons are worried about CRT!
@@reynardthefoxthat’s infantry shown with helmets He was not camped anywhere near Wilson creek, he was closer to Springfield, marched through what’s now Republic about four thirty.
It’s now heavily wooded but at the time it was mostly pasture and corn fields You don’t see hundreds of year old trees on the field today. There were about a hundred people living in the area of the battle, the Wire road ran through the field
In the absence of photos of place and time, AI imagery can carry the narrative. However, some that AI imagery are inconsistent with that period. Are those soldiers wear hard headwear? If so, I believe that was before helmets made their advent.
No, it wasn't a battle. It was fake. Morons on both sides. What Lincoln needed to invade, start spilling blood. Anderson was a 55 yo major, commander of the Charleston forts, a tax collector. Was it his idea to abandon all the other forts and hold up at Sumpter? No he was following orders. He was from a border state, support Lincoln badly needed. He was rewarded with the rank of brigadier general and command of Kentucky troops. Brigadier general was the highest rank you could get at that time.

Johnston, a great man, was brigadier general in the US Army before the war.
Anderson: "Hm. Maybe I should just return to Washington." The devil on his shoulder: "Perhaps. But you know what'd be really funny?" *Cut to half-a-million dead Americans.
The first battle of the Civil War was fought at the Alamo 25 years before it started in 1861 Texas is always been a slave state and that’s when it started
The real reason for the Texas revolution was to protect and keep their slaves the Mexican constitution outlawed slavery. That’s what they were fighting to protect. All the other reasons are lies.
Why are all the photographs you show out of context? All the uniforms are anachronisms, the picture of the French general are wrong and so on. Did you let it be cerated by an AI? That would explain why they are so bad.
The Patriots were fat? As in laying in weight? BTW, this could have been 3 to 4 minutes shorter without all the repetition. A video about a battle could show some fighting.
I wrote a major paper on this war and the British Conquest of North America and I determined that it was a matter of who made the fewest mistakes. Wolfe was no genius, his Brigadiers hated him, Montcolme was the better commander but the mistakes added up to his end and the end of a French presence in North America.
