how did you properly secure the keyboard after you put the new one in the palmrest? after putting my keyboard in, it sags down because it doesnt stick to palmrest, making it difficult to type
I am confused, most of the tutorials regarding RAM replacing for Asus X550C insist that it works with low power RAM, aka DDRl, 1.35 V. You talk about DDR, 1,5 V.
I am grateful to you for showing how difficult the replacement process is. Not a great design for repairability. I was intending to get the keyboard out to try and clean it but seeing how long that would take I decided to try squirting Iso-Prophil alcohol (the 99.9% pure stuff) into the keyboard. I then tapped each key multiple times, which caused the alcohol to splash out. Used a bit of compressed air and a tissue as well to get out the excess fluid. All keys now work but will have to wait for it to dry out properly to see if the cleaning really worked. Might have to repeat the process but it has saved me alot of time. Thanks again.
Well, that fix didn't last long, I just succeeded in moving whatever gunk there was around the keyboard so more keys didn't work once it dried out.. I'm ordering a keyboard with a backlight so I don't have to go through that part of the replacement process.
Good reminder to avoid Lenovo products, what a stupid way to build a laptop. Keyboards are a top 3 failure for a laptop, there’s zero reason to put it behind the system board.
