Even though this movie was just for marketing purposes I will say this movie is gorgeous with better quality animation. And that's too bad since that kind of animation if they put that with duel monsters or if season 0 wasn't cancelled they could've use that animation for greater chapters and it wldve been beautiful to watch after 20 yrs later surpassing studio galap animation.
It was a good way to end the series. It's a shame it was cancelled in Japan the ratings were poor. And when remake it they went up to duel monsters but cut everything season 0 was built up for.
Fun fact this episode arc was what happened in episode 13 when bakura put them into their favorite monster cards and yami yugi duels to get them back so yeah both of these episodes are similar but with a few differences.
Fun fact kazuki Takahashi loves roll playing games which is why the RPG arc he puts in the manga makes it a big deal. In season 5 which is the finale even though he got popularity through card games he still wants to end his story in his own terms by using the RPG but in a shadow game the same starts in the beginning and now use it for the end which was fitting it was full circle.
I'm glad your satisfied with this episode. It's cannon but did some changes and tone down death T which is such a letdown since all the characters development is thrown out the window. And it sucks.
Your reaction to Honda was gold since that was me when I read the manga but it wasn't impactful as I hope since I watched duel monsters before I knew season 0 and the manga existed. So it makes this whole experience underwhelming. Well it's shocking I knew deep down he'd not going to die.
This is cannon in the manga and also what got episode 1 in duel monsters. The small changes were Honda's nephew which is God awful with miho as replacement is a good thing. There's chopman, the robot tried to cut their hands of and the bodyguard threaten yugi if he doesn't duel kibia he holds anzu and joey hostage with a gun. Yeah good times.
Gorzaburo in the manga did kill himself to teach kibia a lesson about what you do when people lost. It's through his mindset to why he was willing to kill himself in duelist kingdom when he duels yugi in the Castle to him it makes sense. But it's tragic of how he turned out because of how groomed and abused by gorzaburo is what destroyed him.
It's interesting they introduced bakura early while they introduced mokuba a bit late at least this season. Again where was toei going with this when this happens.
Allien was such a a cool filler character. For a filler episode she's pretty badass as a model it wldve been interesting to see her in the Grand championship arc instead of Vivian Wong.
What's interesting about this episode is that they introduced shiziuka early for a filler episode that introduced her early she wasn't introduced until duel monsters and in the manga she was introduced in the video tape but the gang was witnessing with joey together. And Tristan saw her for the first time and has a crush on her. I did wonder where they're going with this when they show her too early.
What's interesting about this is that their actual good one off female villains that came from the craft or the heathers type of mean girl villain but like to be witches. It wldve made a cool interesting female antagonist in the Grand championship arc or waking the dragons arc?. Like instead of zigfried it's these girls who use dark magic to threaten the whole town or park and yami yugi have to face them instead. They have so much potential as female villains but what do you think?
Interesting change in the manga since jonojuni did went to a game show to win but the director rigged the system for him to lose and cheated but yami punished the director for that I was disappointed we didn't get to see that since I don't think yami yugi punishment the director brutally compared to the rest that he did.
I was disappointed the first time I watched this since I was expecting mokuba vs yugi since after mokuba lose yugi gives him a fitting punishment. I wanted to see that animated.
This one improved than in the manga since there was no yami game in the manga he was pissed by his own pet and eat them all and Yugi's pet grows and beats him up and free him from his control. Little yugi see that but no shadow game.
This is similar to the manga but the small difference is when this happens it takes place in the museum In the middle of the night and not only did yugi Grandpa's friends had a horrible outcome but shadi did use him to try to kill his grandpa and strangle Joey which was pretty violent. Anzu did save them both by brutally by knocking possess guy with the model earth globe that knocked his teeth out . The school pretty cool but in the middle of the night in a closed museum is actually more terrifying.
It's interesting that this is cannon in duel monsters but the reason why it's similar but different was for 2 different reasons. In season 0 case along with the manga shadi did want to know who solved the puzzle it seems impossible and why it was yugi he wants to know for sure if he's a pure boy or a facade. Which is why he has the 🗝️. What he didn't expect there's another person who might be the pharaoh and knows who ever solves it has unlimited unknown power. So that's the reason why he's there. In duel monsters it's similar but he's more focused on who kills pegasus since he had the millennium who he gave him in a brutal way. And later in season 2 he warned him about the Egyptian gods so for him to get killed was unexpected because he holds the millennium item which is so important which is why shadi goes to yugi he has the millennium item but suspect because of that he might be the killer. That's why he went to his mind. It's a cool difference and detail that actually works for the story for later seasons like Battle City and dawn of the duel in season 5
“I f**kin called it I told you! 🤓” man reminds me of my cousin. Not making fun but my cuz is a huge marvel nerd and knows EXTREMELY way more than me about Marvel comics beyond the movies. Makes me laugh lmao
It was a weird time for the rules of card games but it was a parody to magic and gathering at the time but called it magic and wizards. It's crazy the card game in real life got popular and called it duel monsters.
There's a lot of changes even in season 0 since in the manga it was the other criminal in disguise he plays a game with and he was literally being burned on fire for real.
There are changes from the manga since it was usiyo got punished by seeing the illusions of money when in reality it was leaves and they play a knife game in their hands which was pretty intense.
2:03 I definitely like season 0 better. And I love the manga. I’ve read all of the first 37 volumes of the book. I must say, I love reading about how kaiba changes throughout the story.
