That looks like the Coldwell Complex and I found a 600+ lb one with the same pattern! Snowflake, with the pepper section that's very concentrated and bright, with lines throughout! It's amazing that it's just like that mountain side!
Eric, great informative video! We just got back from our Yooperlite trip! Had a great time and found a real nice one. Thanks for your discovery of these beauties! We gave you a shootout in our video!Already planning our next trip! Thank you again from a fellow Michigander! 😊👋🏼
Hi, I just got a C8 UV and how do I find out whether it’s the Nichia or the LG LED? (I’m hoping for the LG, the web says they live longer and are a bit stronger.) The documentation situation is subterran, and I got it from the austrian (badly translated) face of a hungarian distributor, as that was the one closest to me…
Question. I've never even heard of Yooperlites until this week. I bought a jar of assorted stones at an antique store. I sat here admiring them while watching RU-vid. After seeing someone else describe these I shined an LED light on it. From 2 to about 7 inches the stone sat there and looked pretty. When I put the light behind it, it lit up in all its hot lava glory. My question is "Is this a Yooperlite or something different?" It's been less than a week but I'm hooked now on rock hunting. Thanks in advance!
I have always wanted to visit the shores of the Great Lakes, but not for Yooperlites, but for the great shapes of the rocks. Now i have a double reason to go...Thanks for this instructive video. PS! I will also do night time rock hounding here in the western states. Don't no if fluorescent rocks can be found here, but worth a try, will just have to move the rattlesnakes to the side. They like the early night.
I know it’s probably in the comments thread somewhere but may I ask a quick question? What flashlight did you use vs the person that found the syenite? I’m looking to buy as a gift.
What kind of light is used by the male at the end? The one that doesn’t glow so purple? I live a couple hours away and this would be an awesome activity for my parents and I to do together!
