There is a practice called Heart Rhythm Meditation which is physically based in the coordination of the breath with the sensation, in the chest, of the heartbeat. One aspect of this practice involves experiencing the energetic heart, which is larger than the physical heart. In fact it is so large that it can encompass and embrace all and everything. There is no limit to what the heart can embrace and it is through the heart that all beings are intimately and inextricably interconnected and interdependent. This can be experienced any time and anywhere, and even all the time. My friends and teachers Puran and Susanna Bair at the Institute of Applied Meditation (IAM) have been developing and teaching this practice. Here is a link to their web site: www.iamheart.org/
There is a deep longing from within to reclaim something that was lost. Your question allowed a deeper awareness of expanding into the Cosmos where for me seeking does not exist. Grateful for your remembering and questioning.
This is amazing Jeff! I love it. The signature at the end is really nice. I am moved, even though I've heard this story told by you at least 4 times. LOL! It's a wonderful story that never gets old and your passion never lessens. I want to listen to this everyday so I can go out with this feeling of being a cosmic being. The truth of who we are, right here, all the time. Amanda L.
When I was 10, I would go out at night to see the stars and I had an idea how big the universe was. I would travel outwards until ultimately I could see only a small ball of stars from where i came. Then I turned outwards again..............................emptiness.........then I got scared.................back to bed................. Thanks for the trip Jeff.
Hi Jeff. Thanks btw, your approach is very empowering and kind. I wanted to download your 10 day course, but your website doesnt seem to work on a mobile (cell). My name is dan my email address is mrdanrowlinson@gmail.com. would love you to send me that course. Many thanks :)
Whats the point of meditation, when that is what you're something you're supposed to be doing all the time. Also the meditation you're talking about is a masculine practice. How about some feminine practices. When I meditate, I waste my time. I used to love meditating, but not for any end, because it was nice to experience emptiness. But what about practices that help you experience fullness, like art. I love some of your insights though, but you keep bringing it back to emptiness, which is kind of difficult for me to follow. Your teaching is a masculine practice. That helped me meditate, now I can listen to you and pick up on your insights :).
Rohan Ravi Hi Ravi.... Meditation is very useful even essential to many people, but if it is a waste of time for you then you should feel free not do it. Meditation is not the only path to follow. I love art as a practice as well.
No, i kinda lost my meditation 2 years ago, when i fell from grace. I got that back yesterday. If we take a step down Emtiness is Masculine and Fullness is Feminine, but in the Absolute they are One. So I love meditating because from that point of view it is the same as art. And that is what came back when i got my meditation back, the Absolute.
Jeff Carreira Also it is necessary to Meditate, to move through stages, from orange to green for example, which is what happened in my case. The same thing might happen through art, if you fully gave yourself fully to the art. Because Meditation is an art, and art is a Meditation. But Real art, like actually painting or something.
Love this so much! This is a superb introduction for anyone new to meditation as well as a boost to anyone who has meditated a lot. It's rare to find teachings with this much breadth and depth that make meditation so accessible. Thank you Jeff!
