Welcome to A Motorcycle's Tale, the RU-vid channel that takes you beyond the specs and dives straight into the heart of the riding experience. At A Motorcycle's Tale, we believe that a motorcycle is more than just the sum of its parts - it's a story waiting to be told on the open road.
At A Motorcycles Tale, we believe in the power of firsthand experience. Join us as we hit the open road to give you a genuine, no-nonsense review of various motorcycles. We won't just tell you about the bike; we'll show you what it's like to ride. From the thrill of maneuvering through U-turns to testing emergency stops, we're putting these bikes through their paces.
Let's hit the road together and discover the true essence of each motorcycle's tale.
Hey Thanks for the feedback.... I am trying to bring the music volume down to a level you cant hear it while I am talking but if I stop you can just hear it... It takes time to get it just right =-) I do try to get a good engine volume as well but sometimes the cameras just don't pick it up and then silence can be too much hence to cover I have the music... BUT I do agree a few times the music was too loud =-) I'll keep playing with it =-)
Finally a Street 500 , interesting to see a different testing location , Nice bike has a nice note as well , after market exhaust ? Looks to handle well all that you threw at it , maybe an open road for the 0 to 60 or 100 then you might have found the power 😎 Great bike otherwise , Ok as for the ending didn't give you a chance to guess the next motorcycle ??????????
Yeah I think I have to move locations someone let me review a really loud bike (coming soon) and one of the people got upset lol so I tried a different location LOL The 500 is a great bike for sure The whats that motorcycle is definately there and working..... Did it skip. Ive had that happen on some some channels I watch and when I have tried it a second time it works have a look again see what happens...
@@edmay8617 How very strange its definitely there.... Like I said Ive been having weird things happen to the channels I watch as well... Anyway... Nope not a CMX 500 lol its a bit bigger than that =-)
Hey all. If you have any suggestions for motorcycles you want to see reviewed please leave a comment. If you have anything you don't like please tell me. How can I get better if you don't give me a way to improve. If you have any suggestions for tests you would like to see added please let me know I want to make this series of reviews what you want to know about bikes!
Yes it is. But also a lot of these bikes lent to me are peoples personal bikes and while I want to show good times I don't want to kill someones bike that they kindly lent me so I'll push but not over push it. I hope that makes sense.
As I mentioned to other posts the beach bars (not standard I am sure at least I never had beach bars on my shadow 750) were dropped lower and wouldn't allow for a full lock they hit my knees stopping a full lock. I also owned a Shadow and could turn it tighter than this video. The owner has since lifted them up to a more normal position and if I were to go back and refilm the figure O's I would be able to turn tighter. 😁
I feel like it's "damning with faint praise" when people describe the Honda Shadow as a perfect first bike for a new rider. It is that, of course, but that incorrectly implies that it's not a fantastic bike for more experienced riders as well. The Shadow can easily be a "forever bike". It's up for touring, Iron Butts, commuting, or anything else (other than racing) that you want to throw at it. Even if you're vain and shallow like I am, you can park a Shadow 750 next to any other cruiser and it still looks like a proper grown-up bike. Throw a proper set of pipes on it (like V&H Short Shots) and it sounds every bit the muscle cruiser as well. We live in an era where anything less tan 1500cc is considered a "girl's bike", which is total BS. that 750 is plenty powerful enough for real world riding, and being 200+ lbs less than that Suzuki M109 or Harley Street Glide offers lots of advantages to offset the missing additional HP and torque. Also, I LOVE the beach bars on my Shadow. Maybe not optimal for really tight maneuvers, but fantastic for regular riding.
I don't know that it is a perfect bike for a first time rider... Imagine a 5 foot 2 50kg woman with no leg strength trying to hold that up... Its not a heavy bike for a 5 foot 10 person..... Its not a light bike at 230kg (505 pounds)... I don't know about racing, someone I knew kept asking me to race him and I kept saying only to the speed limit, which he didn't want to do he wanted to go faster than the limit... He knew of course that I would beat him to the speed limit, so that's why he didn't want to do that... He owned a Goldwing LOL. The Bobbers that are coming out of Shadows are just beautiful of course... I'm shallow I loved my Shadow.... Didn't want to sell it... Definitely never had a problem going distance on it. 100% it can be a lifetime bike... I never thought of it as a "girls bike" hence why I owned one.. My problem with the beach bars during the tests was, that when I went to turn they would hit my legs and I couldn't full lock the steering which would have allowed for tighter turns... It turns out that the bars were at the wrong angle... The owner has since rolled them up and now they don't hit legs when turning. I keep thinking maybe I should do an update with the fixed handlebars Thank you for the comment. I super appreciate it.
If my local Motorcycle store gets one and is a demo. I for sure can do that. I will go look this week and see if they have one.... I have 2 more different Motorcycles from them a 2023 and a 2024 (of course I am not saying what they are as I want people to guess)
Nice bike thats for sure , but yes does help to know where your switches are for the indicators LOL , you liked the power take off 😎keep the rubber on the ground a triumph for the next bike
Im gonna try keep your Rubber on the Road as a tag line..... better than ground I think LOL.... Those indicators DID my head in LOL Not a Triumph..... I want to get my hands on one to review..... SOON™
Also.... The short video thank you to the owner of the bike is the second in three videos..... When I get to the third one I hope you'll see the differences between all three =-)
Hey all. Here 's a new episode of a Motorcycles Tale. If you give it a thumbs up thank you. If you give it a thumbs down please let me know what you think I can do to improve. I would surely appreciate the feedback. The Hornet was definitely worth the ride. It makes me consider getting one for my work as a motorcycle instructor.
Gave it a thumbs up, but the video is a bit grainy, and contrasty....might be because I have HDR on, but it also feels choppy, on a 165hz monitor so I don't usually experience that. Just some constructive feedback I hope :) Oh and the music drowns everything out. Including your sweet voice. I'd really like to hear a bike when you review it instead of some generic music :(
@@RJMStraya Yes I had a few technical isses with the editing of the video so it didn't come out as sweet as it has before... I normally have the music down low so you can just hear it (most times) but this episode definitely left me struggling with the various things that went haywire between corrupted footage, missing sound, weird camera wobbles.... All great fun lol
I'm guessing the next one is a CB500F. I'm looking to get into motorcycling and I appreciate your videos. Not just the information you provide, but the style in which you provide it. Right now, I"m considering either the 390 Duke, the Z500, or the CFMoto 450 NK. If you haven't reviewed any of those bikes, I hope you will one day.
Hey There, Thank you for your most kind encouragement. My first season was not anything fantastic, but I do think I am getting better in season 2 lol. Sometimes people need just that. I have up my sleeve a 2023 KTM 390RC to review, I was putting it off but maybe I'll release the video in the next few releases. As for the next bike well it is a Honda but not the CB500...
Ahh the Vulcan S , A beautiful bike , did you forget that it's not Motorcycle Idol 🧐, Seriously though always like the look of the bike , handled all that you threw at it and with power to open on the open road Nice 😎 , Next it's the Harley 350 or the Triumph 400
Yes I literally forgot I wouldn't sing... And then I did LOL.... Vulcans are awesome bikes really great bikes.... and worth the money.... No and No to both those guesses.... I didnt blank it out as fully as I normally do.... I tried to make it so you have a chance to get it... And thats the plan going forward =-)
@@AMotorcyclesTale To my previous comments , Wouldn't have minded a ride on that one myself , anyway great to see your Support Local business at the start of the review which really helps with things in Albany like we do with the Bikes that you get to review coming from Locals so it's a Win Win for All 😎🤠
Hey AMT! The GB350 is great! I’m currently riding the Indian variant H’ness CB350 (GB350 in Japan). There are more to Honda’s 350cc series so here’s some insights! H’ness CB350 (India) - GB350 (Japan) CB350RS (India) - GB350S (Japan) CB350 (India) - GB350C (Japan) Honda BigWing India just released the CB350 in 2023 and the Japanese variant, GB350C, will be on Japanese shores in June 2024. Love the look of this version. Check it out! P.S, I live in Singapore and am riding a 2022 H’ness CB350 Anniversary Edition through parallel import. A definite decent modern classic bike!
Thats Awesome.... I know India get many more option of motorcycles.... There is a bike in India that is a custom cruiser I thought it was called Adventuraa but I cant find it cant even find a picture now sadly... I would love to ride one of them
Hey there... Do you mean the Honda VT500 from the 1980's? If you do thats a cool motorcycle. I will try my best to find one.... I think that would be fun to review!!!!
I hope that everyone will remember not to skip the Albany Motorcycles section cause there are 3 different versions..... and this was just the first one!!!!!
What a great review , I'm sure it wasn't Motorcycle Idol 😎 or my obsession ( Iva Davies ) ?? certainly a good bike thats for sure seemed to handle all that you threw at it . Loved the new concept of the video Job well done 😎🤜👍
Yep I would never make it as a singer for sure..... I think I have finally found the flow of the reviews....... Wait till the competition at the end of the year it will definitely do well on some of the challenges..... But not the 0 to 60 lol that was just a sad way to end that section lol
Nice video. Always kinda freaks me out to see you guys riding on the left side of the road, although I was lucky enough to rent a HD Dyna out of Brisbane and ride with some friends (who made sure I stayed on the correct side of the road) down to the Gold Coast and up into the mountains a few years ago.
thank you most kindly..... Yeah It would freak me out to ride on the right side of the road LOL... I hope you enjoyed the ride and it wasn't too cold in the mountains =-)
@@AMotorcyclesTale Cold?? Haha. I'm from western Canada and what you guys think is "cold" is a mild day here. I've been to Oz a couple of times. The first time was just before Christmas (that's when I did the ride), the second was in June-July (your mid-winter). My wife came with me for that one and we spent lots of time outside in shorts, t-shirts and light jackets. We even went to the beach at Noosa (wasn't very busy, LOL). Actually loved riding in Australia. I found it easier than driving the rental car, because in that almost everything is reversed. I did a lot of turning on wipers when I meant to hit the signal lights.
@@lendirk902 LOL the joys of an adventure. Yes Canada is definitely colder... The difference between the two countries cars would really mess me up =-)
Just wanted to add in case there's beginners considering a Honda Shadow: I'm a new(-ish) rider and have a Honda Shadow Phantom as a first bike. I tend to disagree with the Shadow not being considered beginner friendly. As mentioned in the video, the bike is very stable, and the low center of gravity makes it easy to manage. There's just enough power to do all you need it to do, but not too much power where it'll escape you. It's also very easy to work on; however, the low seat height can make oil changes a struggle. All things considered, if you've completed a riding course and therefore have some familiarity with bikes, especially cruisers, the Honda Shadow is a great choice for less spirited riding such as around town, back roads, and highway riding.
Hello there... So it's all a matter of perspective I guess. Someone that has a height between 4f 10in and 5f 6in with no leg strength would you recommend a 229 kg / 504.9 lb motorcycle to them... No probably not. Tho there are absolutely those people who are as game as anything to get themselves into trouble for sure... As a 6f person myself who did own a Honda Shadow 750 (but not my first bike) while I agree that it is easy to ride and could make a good beginner bike IF it wasn't for the weight of the bike itself and the CC's. I personally think 500cc's or less is a good starting point, and I would never have touched the shadow 750 as my first bike and you couldn't have paid me to (but again thats just me and my perspective, I am glad that you felt free to add your perspective, because for me I've been riding for over 30 years and it is a little hard to remember what it was like as a new rider)... Now the Honda Shadow 400 might be a different kettle of fish... Anyone locally got one for me to review =-) I do agree if somone has done some professional courses then riding a bigger bike might be ok. But for someone who has never touched or spat at a bike or even sat on one.... I would still say don't ride the shadow as your first bike.
"I was thinking that I should have a name for our viewers.... But I can't think of anything.... Someone out there help me out... Come up with a name for us!!!!" - Talesies? 😁
Yep this was a vast improvement over last series... just a couple of audio glitches that even when I tried to fix and export a second and third and fourth time still happened that can happen to even the best creators.
Should I use the Blacked out picture like I have or should I use the revealed picture for the thumbnail? Any comments or thoughts on this would be appreciated!
Season 2 , Awesome Intro Love the new Format, 0 to 60 and emergency stop meter good to see , Very nice bike looks like you had too much fun open road would be fun with that one
I really like the intro and outro I think they are so much nicer than season 1's I like the transitions much better than the black screen of death lol. I can and will "somehow" make the Emergency Stop Meter better..... I just have to work on it a bit lol
I think the Twisty is a little harder to do as a competition but as a collective just to see how the all go up there is cool, So it was suggeseted to me to do the videos with the cartoon look for the intro and outro and ride around but do the competition section normal... so I thought Id try it for the last video and see what happens and comments that are told =-)
As always . . . Magnificent job, there Mystery Man! . . . Now you need to hand out some trophies, gifts or even some shout out's to the owners in appreciation. In the future you could possibly allow the bike's owners a minute or two to add their reasons on why they chose their bikes, and then have them share their likes & dis-likes, and adding any other comments about the bike after riding it for awhile, to help tell the "Motorcycle's Tale!"
Damn That's a really good idea.... Ok Ok.... I'll see If anyone wants to be on camera later. Wont be the next video as thats one is already to go. But in the future..... It wont work for Motorcycle shop bikes but thats ok to... What a really good idea... Thank you!!!!
These are awesome little scooters. This is actually my old bike funnily enough, rode it up until 2020 when I got my r-e license. I painted the rims black, put on the light bar and added the yamalube sticker. It was still all silver when I owned it. Miss this bike.
For its size... and it is smaller than most scooters... And being only a one person ride... No Pillions for this scooter... It has so much power and is a lot of fun.... The one in the video is actually the one my son has used for the last year while he waits to go for his R-E in 3 days time LOL He has been counting down for the last 2 weeks LOL
@@AMotorcyclesTale very good, and yes I agree. It shits on the Chinese ones in terms of power and reliability. Also pops the best wheelies! Best of luck for his test.
I watched this video just three minutes after you uploaded it, but my Roku doesn't let me comment to RU-vid videos, so here I am today about 12 hours later. I was pulling for the scooter then that mean MT09 had to ruin the fun! it was close though.
Well just loved that one , Emergency Stop you said The Yamaha Jog did an emergency take off 😎😎 ok colour saturation a bit better not a real fan of the black & white . Remember the song Take on Me by AHA they did a video clip like you have done . But all in all the result was quite interesting lets see who takes out the next category .
Really you dont like the comic book black and white look... I love that look... LOL.... Next year I'll release a Comic book look version and a normal version =--)
Well Done , Certainly an interesting way of seeing how different Bikes turn really gives you a chance to look at different options amongst many others when purchasing a bike
Looking terrific there mate, Had a good chuckle at your insistence that you wouldnt say x and y and yet displayed the words more than i think ive seen on some creators whole lifetime of videos ... well done! Your right you have a very clever person in your tea pot (of sorry helmet) cover creator it was terrific! Thanks for the efforts this year, well done and all the best to you all. 2024 is going to break some records and be spectacular im sure!
Awesome Helmet, Job well done by your Wife , And to you Job well done on Season 1 thank you for Reviewing my bike and all the other bikes that you did Roll on Season 2 , Have enjoyed all the reviews I even just watched my review in full again 😎👍
Love that Helmet Cover. I have a Optimus Prime Helmet Cover as well!!!! Thank you for lending me your bike to do the review on =-) Can you shoot me a text tomorrow afternoon or evening =-)
Love what you've got going on with the channel and website mate! didn't know you were around. I will be calling on your services sooner than later as a 52yr old learner! :)
Awesome. Glad to hear it.... Feel free to give me a call and I will definitely get you going! You won't be the oldest I have taught. That honor goes to a 76 year old lady!!!!! And I have not reviewed one of those bikes yet but I would definitely be glad to do so!
Awesome. I'm riding with a mate who's also 50 ish and has ridden all his life. Just on a CT110 atm (Postie) but next week moving up to his CRF300. If you see a Dark Blue Subaru Forester tooting at you that'll be me saying hi! Gonna keep an eye out for ya on the road :D @@AMotorcyclesTale
