Heya! The name's Anya, welcome to my channel! This is a space where I share videos of what I've been up to, what I'm loving and my travels. I recently moved to South Korea to embark on a new adventure as an English teacher. I'm loving it so far and hope you'll join me on my adventures.

Unfortunately, you cannot teach in Hagwons as a person who is not from an english speaking country. But you teach English in South korea by the EPIK/GEPIK program and you need to have a teacher's license for that. When you apply by EPIK/GEPIK, it is not always guaranteed that you will have a job in korea. You need to choose 3 places and they'll randomly pick one for you. All the best👍!
Hi! I’m applying for the epic program now! I’m from NZ too! Just wondering when I send my degree to get apostiled - is a print out of the digital certificate okay? And how did you get your sealed uni transcripts?
Hey, thanks so much for watching! So you can actually send DOIA the link to your degree certificate and they will print and apostille it for you! I did my criminal bg check at the same time to save $$. There’s a form on the website that explains the steps. In terms of the sealed transcript, I just gave EPIK the link to my e-transcript, since my uni don’t do physical transcripts anymore. Depending on your uni you can ask them for your sealed transcript ☺️
@@anyalinh oh thank you! Sorry what is DOIA? So I don’t need to physically send my degree and criminal check to the NZ government to apostile? That’s what I was going to do…
@@shannongray2518 DOIA is the Department of Internal Affairs - that’s the govt department that apostille documents. This website has all the info and the form you need ☺️ www.govt.nz/browse/passports-citizenship-and-identity/proving-and-protecting-your-identity/use-your-nz-documents-overseas/#45
this is so cool to see! I’m planning on going to Korea for a trip but I’m so nervous because of the language barrier and how different it will be compared to nz. It’s so comforting seeing this video and how your adjusting, love the way you edit your vids aswell omgg
thank you so much for your comment and for watching! It can definitely be nerve wracking visiting a new country without knowing the language, but I think if you’re coming for a visit, you will be fine going around day to day! I’d recommend learning a few basic to help you get around and order food etc and downloading the translation app papago ☺️ I hope you can make it over here for a visit and have an amazing time!
Just found your channel and I'm obssesed! Can't wait to live the live your living. Will be completing my CELTA course in February next year. How are you finding korea?

Thanks so much for watching! Ohh awesome, I hope you enjoy your time here ☺️ Depends where abouts in Seoul you’re travelling from, but from Gangnam there are a few red buses that go direct, they take just over an hour ☺️
I’m planning to travel to Korea at the end of this year! This video really got me more excited i just cannot wait!! Thanks for this video its got me looking forward to it even more, as well as kind of eased my nerves as well! :)
That’s so exciting, I hope you have an amazing time here! Thanks so much for watching and I’m so glad it’s helped ease your nerves a bit, travelling to new countries are definitely exciting but it’s understandable to be nervous too, especially if you’re travelling solo!
This is so cool Anya🔥Thank you so much for finding and using my song 'Take Us Back' 😊🙏🏻 Great to have someone from over the ditch finding my music! South Korea looks amazing.
Is there a kkt group chat I could join? I have heard a lot about Facebook group chats but I don't have it😅😂 Any input would be amazing:) Thank you for the highly informative video~
Hello! Thanks for watching! Unfortunately I’m not familiar with the process for countries that are ineligibility for the E2 visa, but hope you’re able to find a job and visa that works for you! ☺️
The kettle is so cute! What app did you use to get the delivery food? And did they not require a Korean number or bank account? You could use your foreign bank account or paypal?
Thank you!! I used Trazy to pre-order the kimbap and tteokbokki which you can use a foreign card with but the rest of the days I used the yogiyo app. If you can’t read Korean you can google translate the website version. If quarantining you can leave the right amount of cash outside your door and the delivery driver can just leave your order outside your door ☺️ If you’re not you can also pay by card at your door too! Hope that helps!
I’m so excited for you!! I’m applying for sept school season & am also from NZ hehe. Thanks for sharing your journey with us girl! I’m so excited and even more motivated to do my docs lmao - keep the vids coming pleaseeee!
thanks so much!! Ooh good luck, I hope you find somewhere great and it would be awesome to see more people from NZ here 🥰 Feel free to message me if you have any specific questions! X
Love this for you girl!! I’m been thinking about moving to Korea for about 3 years now since my last visit over there - buuut I have like no teaching experience and my degree was in commerce 😫🤣 Hope you continue to vlog!! Will like & subscribe hehe 💖
If you’re from one of the 7 countries for the E2 visa, you absolutely can! While my degree probably crosses over more than yours, I can definitely relate to not having any teaching experience, but doing a TEFL course absolutely helps and your school should give you training too ☺️ Thanks so much for checking out my channel and maybe I’ll see you over there soon 💗
