We are a large family (9 children here) of creators. We are currently building a shop for my husbands knife business and converting a dairy barn to be our family home. We spin, weave, knit, crochet, dye, forage, plant, wood work, paint, bake, make large family meals, play and more. We are also avid tea drinkers and love to also blend our own. Join our family as we create.
I know you guys won't eat anything you haven't positively ID'd the only puffball that I've ever heard of that is poisonous is the pig skin poison puff ball (Scleroderma citrinum) they are small ones with a brownish color and a thicker skin. The small ones with spikes are called "gem studded puffballs" ( Lycoperdon perlatum) and they're considered choice edibles, by some. I personally don't care for them at all. In fact the only puffballs I've ever liked were the puprle spored puffball (Calvatia cyathiformis) and they are frickin deliciouso! 😂 But that Herecium you found near the end was the prize discovery 💯 Not sure if it was a lion's mane or a bears head, but since the spores of them can be crossed, they're likely the exact same mushroom. Definitely one of my all time favorites. I cultivated them last year and made tinctures for their health bennies. It's cool to see the family excited about finding and identifying wild foods.
We eat the puffballs we know. But we aren't really fans. The Lions mane was fantastic. Our first find personally but we have been with others when they found them. A dream find. We didn't keep very many of these mushrooms. But good or bad they are so fun to find! We have never found the purple interior puffballs. Id like to see the color in person. We were hoping for hen of the woods or chicken of the woods. We love oysters too. Maybe soon. we will see!
I’ve never forged anything. My ex and his friend one time got mushrooms because his friend knew about them .i love mushrooms, the youngest is brave going barefoot. We have sand burs every where when it’s dry. Ouch. But some people can candle being barefoot. Kia if I got it right is a gem. So sweet at that age. Love the girls long beautiful hair.
we call him Hiah, his name is Azariah. But you'll see we have too many nicknames here. We also call him Thomas or Tom. LOL We don't have much stickers here. And we mostly walked the trail. The girls do have amazing hair! Thank you so much!
@@Roehrtribe it fine I think for children to learn how to do various things like your kids do and be able to get dirty and be kids. Growing up we got dirty and camped and hiked a lot. Picnicking and family bike riding. One RU-vid channel her 4/5 of them can do canning both pressure canning and water bath canning and 2/3 of them are cooking fairly well for their age . 10 and younger and they use sharp knives to cut with. Mom is there supervising and helping as needed. Only big girls are canning regularly. Others help. But again, mom is still there, even if the older girls know how to can on a regular basis. Dining room and kitchen are connected and mom does homeschool so she’s there. They have seven kids total. I think the channel is teal House Farm. She teaches her kids skills like you teach your kids, and that an awesome thing for kids to learn. You never know when you may need these skills and it’s a blessing when you have parents who teach their children. Blessings to you all. I wish more parents would teach their kids things instead of just sitting on the couch and letting their kids roam the streets. I love the good old days because parents taught their children things. The way our country is going we need to learn as much as we can to survive. Great job mom and dad. Say hi to Joel Grace. Haven’t seen her in a while.
@@debbiealtman5373Yeah, Hiah wouldn't go far here without shoes. We've got sand burrs also and they will break off underneath the skin and if you don't cut them out, they'll fester for weeks. Ouch! They've even got a Sanburr Festival here in Lake Village, Indiana every summer. We "celebrate" em 😂😂😂
@@ScottWConvid19 I’m sure Hiah won’t go far without shoes. Nice seeing kids be kids. No big deal . I love the mom’s vlog. Wonderful family. Hiah is a cutie.
Ouch! We had way too many stickers and burrs on other properties. This one you have to know where locust trees and blackberries are. other wise you're pretty good.
Are you going to Springfield? That's our closest Costco. I've not been in more than 20 years. We have a Sam's here, but I've not gone in a long time. I need to go price everything and see if we'll save.
Yes that is where we go. It is not a direction we generally go. So it has changed our habits some. I am still surprised at how little variety Costco has. What we buy makes it worth it. But I wish they had more.
That was a great haul. I was watching with my second born man cub and when he saw your tub of sauerkraut, he was like “oh yeah” he loves that stuff. He has ulcerative colitis so he is always pumping in the probiotics and fermented foods.
We lived near a Sam's 20 years ago. And really liked it. But I don't know what they are like now. Buying in bulk helps so much though. Thank you for joining us tonight!
Big fans of the Teton sausage! 👍 I'm glad you were able to get to Costco and try it out. We are due for another visit, but it's just a busy time for us, it's hard to make the trip. ♥♥♥ Wing nights are the best - so glad we inspired you. 🤗
The children were thrilled! I haven't tried them yet. I was gone tonight when they made their cowboy stew. But I hope to soon! So glad for good options!
We are well over a hour. Too far to go there regular. I will say I am a bit surprised on the lack of variety. But we can get enough there it is worth it.Thank you for watching!
@@Roehrtribe our Aldi is 2 hrs and we go there sometimes and Costco 4 hrs or more. Our little tiny town of 1,000 people maybe is in the way out in the panhandle of Oklahoma. I used to love Costco when my ex and I went. But we were 15-20 miles from Costco in Denver Colorado. Now everything is a long ways away. But that’s Ok. No real traffic or people like there is in the city. My ex loved the city. This guy Bruce hates the city. I don’t like crowded places either. I like the quiet. Nice being away from the rat race.
@@debbiealtman5373 We like being out from the city too. We feel out in the boonies but Walmart is 20 minutes away. Aldi and a Whole Foods type store is 45 minutes. bigger stuff is 1 1/2 hours at least. So nothing like you! Life is better in the country.
I love the Setei products. The chips are wonderful...and seed oil free. I was so let down to see that they were bought out by Pepsi Co. last week. There will go those good seed oil free items.
Oh no!! I will start watching their ingredients. I but at best they use cheaper of the same ingredients. But wouldn't be surprised if you are right. Such a bummer! Thank you for letting me know!!
Yes! As much as you can! But I also have to buy things that I can't buy locally. And I have to buy in budget. I can't buy organic potatoes in bulk here. And with Azure I tend to get them half the price per pound compared to local. I can't afford to double my grocery bill. I buy local a lot. But I also don't tie myself to that.
The lighter one is our Brown Swiss her name is Ava. And the darker is Bessie the Jersey both girls are registered. They are very different personality wise. But easy milkers. (minus the tiny back teats on them both...) They stand well for milking.
@@suzanneford1571 I plan too! She was so different to get! We had jerseys before (previous farm) they were bigger than our current jersey. But This Brown Swiss is the biggest cow I have ever handled!
We call them springing in the last couple weeks of pregnancy. But they are called by a few things. She calved a couple hours before she got to our place. But her trip here was pretty short as we are both in the ozarks.
Wow! Now that’s a haul! Who likes mangos? So cute …me! I love pickled beets. I wouldn’t even know how to shop like this. You make your own Nutella! Amazing! Can’t wait to see what you do with it all.
My 3rd daughter really likes mangos. We hadn't had them for years as my husband is allergic. This case taught us that 3 of the children are as well. 2 were only minor allergies. The 3rd was as bad as her dad. So we are officially done with mangos. Whoops... We store in food grade bins. I have to shop big. But this was big for months. So I can take a break.
I really appreciate that! It was a good order, some parts will last years and others will be gone pretty quickly. Hopefully it all lasts 'long enough' Thank you for watching!
We LOVE Coconut Aminos - our favorite! ♥ I just put the half gallon jars in my order. I use the Ball ones for holding milk, but I am ready to try Azure's. I would love to try those olives, but they would be gone too fast. 🤣🤣🤣
I buried them in the fridge. LOL They are SO good. We made the full switch to coconut aminos when Braggs was sold. You would love their jars! They are so thick and strong!
Great haul. Wait! Give me a minute and I’ll be there for the pickle beets. 😂 Absolutely love, pickled beets.❤ Do the tummy cure you mentioned with ginger. I’d like to learn about it. We can’t get azure😞 too far to go.
I went big. I really don't like the hassle of meeting the truck so I am trying to get all I need for as long as I can. I am thinking I'll need to order mostly some citrus and spices in December or January.
We did the exact same thing - dried off our girl when she wasn't pregnant. It only took a few months of buying milk before we decided we needed a second girl. We opted for a much smaller bull (Dexter) and he's tough to handle, so I am anxious to see how it works out with a full-size Jersey bull. Can't wait to get updates. ♥♥♥
You we’ll figure it out what works great for you volging. Glad your son’s ok. That would be scary as a parent . Child gets hurt especially the head. He was saved by God. ❤
I have been drinking it but maybe not enough. I need to make a tincture to get a stronger dose. Thank you for the suggestion! I appreciate your knowledge a lot!
I am really sorry. We have been trying. We discovered our camera mic jack was broken after buying a few mics. And it is currently off at the repair shop. Our videos in October will hopefully be better.
Yes it is. I am sorry about that. We tried several things. But in the end had to ship our camera off to repair the mic jack. We will be better in October. And some videos have better sound than others. Thank you for being here!
