It's like this... we live in claustrophobia, the land of steel and concrete. Trapped by dark waters. There is no escape. Nor do we want it. We've come to thrive on it and each other. You can't get the adrenaline pumping without the terror, good people. I love this town.
My favorite piece in this soundtrack. I'm so glad that Anthony Perkins chose Carter Burwell to compose for this film; after all, it was a slasher film and needed the creepiness of a synth soundtrack to do it justice. Perkins did all the right things for this film in terms of sound, lighting, atmosphere, etc. He knew all the current trends at the time and used them for the movie. It may not have profited as much as the others, but it's my favorite film because of the dark storylines, the soundtrack, and because of how he played Norman at his murdering worst. I really miss Anthony Perkins AND the 80s, the best decade ever for music, movies, pop culture, etc.
I'm not sure how well they knew, while writing this song, how perfect it was going to be for its time. I can imagine that at the time this felt very generic an typical, but how well they just grasped and perfected this genre is just breathtaking. 11/10!
Miss the 80s times of music. Spectacular thought out songs like this is what the mind and soul needs. ❤ Always will be listening till the end of my time.
Dijon: But it's only some loose change! Scrooge: I'll change yer *face* , ya thief! Dijon: Woah woah WAAAAAAHHHHH!!! Scrooge: Somebody, stop those pants!
To Lola (Limassol Cyprus) , possibly the 1st openly Trans person I ever met ! A stunning and brave person with the Heart and soul of an Angel !! I played this on cassette on the beach - she cried , I gave her the cassette !! So simple and innocent - like the song !!
I remember listening to this piece of music when I was 12, and I just loved it. So beautiful, and Burwell did an outstanding job with the score. I even made my own version of it just recently.
Just recently re-watched the abomination of a movie that this song is featured in. Jason Takes Vancouver errrr Manhattan is quite possibly one of the worst movies ever made but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't grooving to the closing credits, hence why I came here. But this movie is still ASS!!!!
