Can I ask a question on 1:10 Maintain Distance, Knowing Your "Zone?" What's the right distance (in feet )? It's hard to maintain distance because my opponent can just shuffle or slide and still can cover the distance and hit me.
Junior I love you Bro! You were the first person I ever sparred against, I was maybe 5 or 6. You took it easy on me. Much love to Sensei Salientes RIP. Asian Knights. Much love to you and your family.
Sparring? you mean dance around a little lad who is never going to be a problem and throw some pretty feeble point punches at him... yeah, that makes you different to "other kata competitors"....
Very good tactical, quick, intelligent bout. Excellent defense shown by both men. Don't like the slips and falls occassioned by the foam foot gear, though. But I really do like--and it's about TIME--to see that the point fighters are getting paid now for their endeavors. $500 and $300 is pretty good for about 15 minutes of work.
yo i remember seein jamal at battle of atlanta 2012! in the naska i believe. i asked him a couple of questions as well haha. amazing guys. do yall thing!!! one day ill be up tp that level. james hobby is my instructor. united karate studios!
Yeah it is. SD is bigger than LBC but there's way more action and alot more Crips in LBC than SD.SD usually has a good does of Bloods insofar as gangs are concerned. San Diego is a million times prettier than LBC is. Plus LBC is connected to a more action packed County overall than SD is. Way more variety up here than down there in SD, too.
@1JHorowitz Two last things: despite our disagreement in areas of pointfighting,we appear to overall agree more than disagree about martial arts, sports combat, quality training, and Raymond Daniels.Lastly regarding the MMA and the backfist? You realize that the SPINNING BACKFIST is in fact a backfist,so...yes the backfist is a very much utilized part of MMA since the heyday of Shonie Carter.
@1JHorowitz Idk which "Nasty" you're referring to,but the REAL "Nasty"--Steve Nasty Anderson who used to roll with Chicken Gabrielle and fought guys like Billy Blanks back in the 80's--never said that to me in any of the numerous convos we used to have back in the day.In fact? He used the backfist to devastating effect.I've used The California Blitz on the street,TKO'ing and/or dropping 90% of the people I hit.Sir,MMA is excellent sports combat, not the litmus test for real skill.
@1JHorowitz Point fighting has some drawbacks and some very good points.Check youtube, there's tons of TKOs in pointfighting,so you're factually wrong about that.Furthermore, pointfighting is what 95% of the martial public does when they actually "fight",so their perception of it isn't too bad.And you're way wrong about the backfist. I've dropped people with it.There's a video of a cop TKO'ing a pimp with it on this YT.
