Very nice. As a Grateful Dead fan, I’ve been wanting to recreate the ES-345 that Bob Weir played from 1967-1972. His looked pretty much like this originally, but then he replaced the Bigsby with a trapeze, and then ditched the pickguard. Nice to know there’s an affordable option for me to do all that.
Nice work Tyler, I love that you cut the access hatch. That is the spirit, go for it and make it yours the way you want it. I am actually considering getting the new version of the FFST338 from Firefly currently. I think your video may push me over the edge.. Check out my 2 FFST review videos if interested. I was recently bitten by the Firefly bug.
Such sweet playing, perfect tone too! I just bought the black FF 338 Pro (no F holes), and Im gonna get the 6 position V switch, pick guard, and gold truss rod cover. I won't be doing the stereo setup, tho.
Kind of sorry I didn't get one when I had the chance, I'm not into gold hardware, or the way it was wired, but this guitar along with the mods you did, really looks awesome Tyler, I should have snagged one and change out the hardware, they did a heck of nice job on the binding, enjoy.
Mine has all the pro appointments but usually the pros will have the alnico 5s this was so perfect that it needed no mods but I added a couple cosmetic things and left the electronics stock other than the varitone!
Thanks for the sub! This is definitely a great guitar the new pickups and electronics they’ve selected for the new 338s are super good for 189 bucks there a steal!
Hi Tyler, I just order the 12 string in Walnut(only color ) Thursday, Dec 1st. As of Mon Dec 5 still no e-mail from GG so I'm trying to patient. I didn't notice the upgrades until I saw the Black with gold pups and the previous models looked different. Noticed the ears 1st and then I read the description revealing all you pointed out in your video (ball end stainless, full size pots. I was thinking about the Aerosonic 12 but it was more money and only in Trans Black with non of the new features, so that may never sell. Very good and thorough video and so far the only one I've seen. Thanks for that !
The guitar is absolutely beautiful!! Please tell me where you found the chrome humbucker rings. I have been trying to find some for my firefly FFLP. Thank you.
Just one thing missing for the Nashville tele and that's the mini toggle switch between the two knobs to be able to put the neck and Bridge on at the same time so that it will also give you a standard Neck Bridge tele sound output
I did some more work to it I bought a new flamed maple neck this year for it looks super sharp needs a fret level and polish but it’s getting there the firefly is setup well and with the upgrades it rips!!
@@TyRoxYaMan sounds cool my friend. I tried to bond with a Squier CV Tele but found myself playing everything else in the stable so I finally parted ways with it and bought 2 338s 🤣🤣🤣. The rest is history!
That Firefly Tele is awesome now. I added locking tuners to mine (from MusicLilly), and a short-scale (24.75” Gibson scale length) Warmoth neck to mine and it’s an awesome axe now.
