How does Star Fleet manage to keep recruiting enough Red Shirts to fill their quota? The recruiters must really be making some great sounding phony promises! Kind of reminds me of my Navy recruiter back in 1970! 🤣😂
“All right men, this is a very dangerous mission and it’s likely one of us will be killed. The landing party will consist of myself, Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy and Ensign Ricky.” “Aw crap.”
Most of these deaths are actually quite gruesome... To be honest, many TOS episodes look quite cheesy now, but some of them are still quite horrifying/unsettling. Like "The Doomsday Machine", "The Changeling" (Nomad kills billions of people) or the second pilot episode.
Alright men this is a dangeeous mission where one of us will get killed. The landing party will consist of me, Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy and Ensign Ricky. Ensign Ricky: Aw crap.
Vaal and Nomad were the worst offenders here. The latter even managed to kill Scotty and mind-wipe Uhura! But of course as soon as everybody switched to red shirts Spock died. Also worth pointing out that Kirk was wearing red when he died and he even got shot in the back in the original scene!
I actually watched that episode last night. I'm pretty sure they were just knocked out because nobody said they died and at least one of them is listed as later becoming a Starfleet commander on the wiki
Great video. Redshirts all ways get it. In the Star Trek: TOS episode Changeling, Normad killed Scotty. (He wore a redshirt as well) But then it brought him back to life. (My apologies if that sounded obvious)
"October 19th isn't just a date, it's a state of mind. When this nation celebrates it's independence on the 4th of July, that's October 19th" Great edit by the way. Six Seasons and a movie!
best done community homage video I ever saw. great editing, captured the heart of the show. (same with star trek 50 years) great job, thank you for this
