Great tutorial but I'm almost done with the hat and there's no way it will fit my head even though I used the same hook size/yarn size😅 Make sure to measure each step of the way so you don't have to redo it later bc it's too small! Even if I made my tension looser, I don't see how this would fit an adult head. Thankfully I'll just be able to give my niece this adorable bucket hat and I'll try again with some more increases or a larger hook in the future!

Yes, you can use gorilla glue as a substitute for the hot glue. It is technically possible to use packing tape instead of masking tape, but it will make it difficult for you to stick the paper mache onto it afterwards. It still can be done but you'll have to have a lot of patience with it!
Ive done 2 hands already and this tut IS SO AMAZING. It is rlly time consuming snd my fingers get hella cramps BUT TYTY FOR THIS 🙏🙏 def looking forward to my finished cosplay
I had a request. Could you please make a video where you use a ribbon instead of an elastic band to wear it? I will be happy with just a short video. I am really struggling so please make it if you can.
Heya! Thanks so much for reaching out! The method with which you can attach a ribbon to your mask is the same as what I explained in the video. You can either glue the ribbon to the inside of the mask, or create two small holes on either side of the mask and put the ribbon through them. If there is any confusion or anything else I can help with, don't hesitate to ask! ^^
@@PrettyMuchParadise Thank you for reply and um...what kind of ribbon should I use? Like I am contemplating whether I should use the bigger kind one because I have it available right now but I am worried that it may not look good.
@@jm6317 Well, I think you should consider how your ribbon needs to be strong and wide enough to hold the weight of your mask and properly support it on your face. If you have a thinner ribbon that you think would look better, you could maybe use the wider ribbon as a means for wearing the mask, and then make one or two small bows out of the thinner ribbon and attach them to one or both sides of the mask for the aesthetic features. But in the end, it all comes down to the types of materials you have at hand and evaluating to see whats the best thing to do!
@@PrettyMuchParadise I didn't even consider that! Thank you so much for taking out time to reply to me. Your videos are always high quality and very well explained so I am hoping that you would once again start to post these videos! I will be a loyal subscriber from now and on.
@@jm6317 You're very welcome, I'm very happy I was able to help! ^^ And thank you so much for your sweet words! New videos are already in the making and I hope you will enjoy them as well! ^^
Alternatives❗❗❗❗ (I have tried all of this myself so don't worry and yes it turned out great) 1) Cereal Box: So it's not like every family eats cereals and all the other boxes that were close it have been thrown away. Don't worry you can just use regular CARDBOARD. Yes, regular cardboard works just fine it kind of bends at spots but you can easily fix it. 2) Face size: My face didn't fit with just two pieces of cardboard maybe because it was smaller it length or something but don't be shy and cut a third length cut a little off that piece and stick it with the other two pieces. 3) Glue: No you don't need hot glue. Hot glue sticks better yes but you don't particularly need it in general. Also for the paper mache I don't know if the glue I am using is given in the video but any glue works. I am using my regular old Fevicol. 4)Tape: There is unfortunately no alternative for the tape because regular tape will not allow the glue to work. You have to find a kind of tape that feels like paperish because then the glue can stick. 5) Paper: Yes regular paper works just fine. It is as strong and as nice as the paper in the video. I am just using your regular A4 size paper you can find at any stationary store. 6) Ribbon: As said in the video you can also use a ribbon for it. I am planning on wearing it so yes I will be doing it but haven't yet done it. I will update you after I add it whether or not it was worth it and it looks ok. But one tip I thought of is if you add ribbon that you can wear it with a small black clip. I will update you if it goes well. Happy making!!
Hello! I got a question...if i want to add tassels or rope with bells on the side of the mask, is it better to stick it inside (just like with the macrame cord) or make a small hole on the sides?
Hey there! Both methods work just fine and it mostly comes down to your own preference and which look you prefer. While it's better to stick thicker material (like the macrame cord I used) on the inside, you're free to attach thinner strings and such with either method and you'll be just fine! ^^
I wow that pretty my mom is not ganno help me with it I want to call my friends tjey😮😮😊❤make it yay I’m so nerves guys ok 👍 I’m calm down 😅😮 ok 321 wow looks cool 😊😊
Hey there! It's okay if your mask didn't turn out as well as you expected the first time, it's just a matter of practice. I'm sure your second attempt will have improved a lot more already. You got this!
@@Stabcake128 If your talking about the hot glue, just buy more glue sticks If your talking about the paper mache glue just get more pva glue and add water again
Hey there! If you want to use paper instead of newsprint for making this mask, you only need to crumple up your pieces of paper a couple times so that they become soft and easier to use. Other than that, all the rest of the steps are the same! ^^
I've been crocheting 5 hours and still not done XD tho its just the spots and gills are missing, thank you for the tutorial its so easy to follow and your explanation really helps
