As a dude, he is a capable soldier who aligns with mostly Paragon actions. And Kasumi likes him, and he daps you up. I like Jacob, he also disagrees with Miranda often enough.
If you think about it: Legion is the only squadmate who will inevitably die before the end of the trilogy While Thane will die saving the salarian councilor that only happens if you talk to him before citadel II which only happens if he survives the suicide mission which he only goes along with if he was recruited and most people don’t seem to know that it is possible for Mordin to survive With Legion he doesn’t really have a recruitment mission he’s just found in the derelict reaper and you don’t get a choice but to take his inactive platform and his fate is sealed in that moment as reactivated he can potentially die in the suicide mission if either by lack of shields, being disloyal and chosen as tech specialist or if you take the wrong fire team leader, die offscreen escorting Chakwas (and the crew) to the Normandy when disloyal, be taken by seeker swarms, is chosen as fire team leader the second time, brought to deal with the human reaper when the platforms collapses if disloyal or potentially killed by collectors if left to hold the line, if he wasn’t reactivated then the alliance will confiscate Legions platform and likely salvage materials from him for unknown purposes, he either sacrifices himself to upload the reaper code to the geth or die trying and if he was sold to Cerberus he’ll appear as an enemy in cronos station
Funny how the internet works sometimes, that without even doing a specific search. A video about how shitty Kai Lang is. Shows up shortly after I finished the mission on Thessia, on my latest play through. For added context I struggle through most of the game, because I'm disabled. So die multiple times doing most of the missions. His fight was the first time, I didn't have to reset and try again. He just stands still soaking up damage till he summons the one helicopter that could solo the reaper fleet.
I feel the biggest issue with genesis is that it’s a DLC like why isn’t it a part of the base game? If someone who hasn’t played the previous games jump into the sequel why shouldn’t they automatically get to make decisions in their timeline opposed to get a default timeline that would go badly?
I do like how the events of the dlc writes itself into the 3 games (the execution of the dlc itself is still poor). In ME1, the best dlc is your first meeting with batarians with the worst of them as they are about to destroy a human world. In ME2, you start meeting different ones as regular mobs but also people with the omega pest when you recruit Mordin. This game last chronological dlc reflects the one in ME2, but this time you’re the one nuking their world, which means different thing for a paragon or renegade shepard. It also ties in better the start of ME3 ME3 didn’t live up to its potential and a batarian squadmate would have been way better another human. But the few batarians in the requisition zones make for good refugee. The once prideful people are now begging at the door. A side mission sends you to take care of a batarian terrorist hiding among them, you think me1 dlc, but you find an enemy on its last breath. Every batarian who had family on the colony knows Shepard and this one is begging for you to kill it so that it can join his family. And for once killing is the paragon choice.
As a black man, when I booted up ME2 on launch day and met Jacob, I first thought, “Alright u won’t be the only one!” - which turned into “this fucking guy??” an hour in and never stopped. And it is jarring that he never changes, regardless of how his loyalty mission goes. It’s tough to be worst squad mate and worst person, but here we are
The easy thing to do would have been have everyone except Shepard be abducted. That could be worked out in a much more believable way. Then, you spend the first phase of the suicide mission saving your squad and crew as you go through the base. Then, once you have the whole crew and team back, you begin the second phase, which is basically the current mission.
The one and only thing I'm taking away from this video, because this is all stuff I noted during my playthrough as well, is the number of people talking about killing the Batarians. Like damn folks. Why stop at 305,000?
I know the part with the N7 armor wasn't what the writer wanted but I like the scene and I don't think it immediately says "oh Legion has emotion" I think it could have represented some sort of deeper part of the death maybe not 100% emotions but something that Organiv can relate to that the Geth cannot entirely comprehend within themselves. Perhaps certain single units within the collective can experience what could be seen as sentimentality but the greater Collective does not thus it gets often overwritten. I think there's a good middle ground to find them where certain individual units wish to be individual not because they want to be organic. Just because they don't want to be in a collective for eternity or see benefits towards the geth by being an individual for a time.
On my first playthrough I thought the genophage was the correct move. I got to the point of pointing the gun at Mordin, but could not pull the trigger. I love how the emotions of this game hit me to care so much about the characters and world. Where a characters determination could not be swayed, and their determination had me let go of what i thought was best. I still think the genophage is correct, but i can never shoot Mordin. So the genophage will always be cured.
Extended DLC opened up more plot holes than it fixed; sure, it's nice of the devs to throw some fan service after some legitimate and brutal critique that they kind of deserved for that bullshit ending, but it does not fix a bad ending. It's just putting on some make up on a pig, while also ignoring the elephant in the room.
I think it simple, they travel to the asteroid with the Normandy and on them with the vessel. And then the project give false rapport to the Normandy for cover Shepard disappearance. When Shepard contact Normandy they are approximately of Shepard position and they can save him and space by relay+ in me3 we have some dialogue about this explosion with garrus for exemple
"I had to blow up the relay to stop that scum from spreading throughout the galaxy. Wait, what do you mean reapers were there too?" - Commander Shepard
5:34 I mean for that pin, she did the whole ‘I’m telling you the plan because you won’t be alive to tell it’ thing, and that leads into the ‘precaution’ pin. She *was* lying in the sense that they were indoctrinated. Technically.
If Legion was supposed to make us see that geth are the real “good guys” then I have to say it was very botched due to us not getting him until the end of ME2 and have him appear in 3 missions before dying in ME3 like we’ve spent 3 games killing geth and only get more context of what happened in the morning war by Legion who’s introduced at the end of the middle point of this series like how are we in that short amount of time gonna sympathize with the geth to the point where driving the quarians, who’s never once been your enemies, to extinction be the paragon option?
I didn't think anything of Jacob when I was playing, other than being annoyed that my shep flirted with him out of nowhere. At first I was surprised to find out that everyone hates him, but then I thought about it and yeah...understandable.
When even the writers clearly didn’t like or want to deal with a character anymore you know they suck Like you can meet and continue romance with everyone but Jacob (moronth doesn’t count since she is just a new va for a skin)
