This is a great map! There's only 3 active people in the stargate modding community if we include you. There's also the aunis mod guy and the guy who made the mc heli stargate pack all of you have huge ambitions and should collaborate on some stuff!
How did you make the button to close the iris in the embarkation room, as far as I know, we can't place regular minecraft buttons inside Little Tiles blocks, and there's no redstone with LittleTiles, I'm really interested to know how you've made it ^^
I used a handy trick. That "button" is actually a door. It has another hidden piece underground. A vanilla Minecraft observer is observing that piece. Observers emit a redstone signal when little tiles blocks such as doors change their state. I have bad news though, the latest little tiles update broke that and I couldn't re-create it again. I am waiting for the latest redstone update to fix this. The pack is so short as is, and I don't know if it'll ever be fully complete. Nevertheless I will publish the map with its own modpack eventually.
can you also tell what all the mods are you used? i really want to download this map and the mods! and can you also tell me how to use custom music in minecraft? i really want to use that alarm sound in some worlds i made
Do you plan on allowing map downloads? I would love to import this into my server as I suck at the building. Also did you use Chisel and Bits for the conduits?
While recording this, I thought of doing exactly that but I couldn't get vic's modern warfare mod to stop crashing the game. If it had worked, the empty armory shown in this video would be filled with P90s and MP5s, and the video would have started with teacl hitting his head to the control rooms door.
I mean, if the armory only stocks bows then bows gotta do, amiright? They might be a good idea, even, considering the fact that goa'uld personal shields don't block arrows. Actually, why wasn't one member of each team trained in bow and arrow combat for this exact reason? Give them some trick arrows - explosive, tranquilizer, poisoned, etc, and they'd make for supreme goa'uld killers, as well as ranged stealth units.
@@JRexRegis Installing optifine solved the crash problem. Now there are guns in the mod pack but sadly no P90 (the mod has all the guns you can think of, but not P90). However, we have MP5, M4, and Beretta M9. Let's think that this is from the first seasons before they got the P90. Regarding your second idea, I think an arrow from a crossbow or longbow will be too fast for the shield. ıt will be stopped. The goauld rarely meet civilizaitons with firearms, they mostly meet preindustrialized civilizations that have crossbows at best. I think they would make their shield able to stop arrows. A throwing knife travels at a *much* slower speed than an arrow or bolt. But you know what else travels even slower than the knife? A thrown grenade! Why don't SG teams carry a few sticky grenades, and throw them at shielded goauld's? The grenade will pass through the shield, and stick to the goauld's body, then explode. But I guess that would have brought the shows rating up to 21+ I guess.
From a lore standpoint, the shield on their Kara Kesh is probably somewhat intelligent, and passively scans for threats the Goa'uld doesn't consciously recognize, like poison gas, radiation, or things like explosives. (Didn't O'Neill use a bow and arrow on Apophis when they're stuck on the Nox' planet, though?) From a production standpoint, I think it was because the explosion effects they used in the show were mostly practical ones - real explosives blasting the ground, for example - and as such couldn't do an explosion that throws back one of the actors without it looking really fake. The era also wasn't that great for CGI, so the difference would've been really jarring.
Thanks. Your mod is awesome. Are you thinking about expanding your mod? I could surely use ring transporters, zat guns and staff weapons in a modpack like this.
SGNetwork? Yeah, it is a good evolution. But I wish SGCraft gates were bigger. There is also AUNIS, but gates in that mod are at least twice as big as they should be, but they are beautiful as they are using GMod textures.
Well, the stargate is around 7 meters in diameter, and one block is 1 meter cubed, so the finished gates in the mod have a diameter of 7 meters exactly. They're the correct size.
