Do you happen to know if NordVPN works? I have a family and would love to connect with them more easily
@sirant

Nord was one of the VPN's I had to refund in China. I worked with their support endlessly trying, even using older and slower Openvpn protocols like they suggested. In the end, no choice but to refund. I HIGHLY recommend Privado, as it not only works very very well in China, but has great support and a very low price. I believe there is even a promotion right now. Check it out: privadovpn.com/getprivadovpn/#a_aid=sirant

It is very sad that Thailand had been turned into one of the 2 prostitution capitals of Asia. The other is the Philippines. No thanks to the Americans ...... and lately, to Europeans as well. Everything these people touch seem to turn to dust. The national governments should put a stop to such trades ..... and focus, instead, on education and industrialization of the country as an alternative to the sex industry. What the Thai Govt is doing is nothing short of selling their own daughters for profit.

im an American been living in Asia for 3 years now in Thailand. Can i get the Chinese visa online or do i actually have to do it from my consulate in the USA?
@sirant
@sirant 5 дней назад
I honestly do not know. I have heard it is very easy to apply for the visa online, but as I am not American myself, I have never been able to do so personally. I still have to do it the old fashioned and in person way. Another possibility would also be to fly first to Hong Kong (no visa required) and use one of the many visa services there for your Chinese Visa.

Hi quick question Im planning on visiting china later this spring of 2025 do I still need to get a tourist visa and a chinese via to go into shanghai?
@sirant
@sirant 9 дней назад
Quick answer yes. Longer answer, maybe. Alot depends on where you are from, how long you are staying and where you plane to go in China. Some countries now can get 144 hour visa free visits and other countries are officially visa free. But it is ALWAYS best to check in advance in any case. Visa regulations change very VERY quickly and it is best to be well prepared before you make your journey!

@@christianlarge3487 From my understanding being in China simplifies the process quite a bit. But in the long run, it is the employer who has to process the work visa ultimately. You can't get one yourself. When I first came, I was told to come on a tourist visa and it was changed to a work visa once I got here. And again, last year, although applying for a family reunion visa, I still had to come to China on a 30 day tourist visa and process the Q2 (family) visa here. Your employer should know the process and can guide you further. Being that you need a local health check and photos anyways, makes sense being here would be the best bet.

Tariffs hurt China only if it dampen consumers demand as they may not have money to pay more for the same goods due to added tariffs tax . If inflation is to be reduced then cost must come down but for basic items that consumers cannot go without, consumers have no choice but pay for higher price. What’s US objective to impose tariffs??
@sirant

To make money. If they raise taxes or impose new taxes on their citizens they will look bad, especially in an election year. You can ONLY apply tariffs... 1) IF the recipient has no alternative market! If they do, they simply go there. . 2) IF they have a history of supplying you, meaning a decline in trade. . 3) IF when you eventually try to enter, re-enter and/ or dominate that same market, YOU don't rely on commodities or finished components from THEM. . SINCE 1) They do (and will) 2) They Don't And 3) You (USA) do... and likely will for some time. Tariffs aren't REALLY the smartest move?

It’s not just US tariffs. It’s also the EU, all(?) of the other advanced democracies, Turkey, India, Brazil, Indonesia, and Mexico. And that’s just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. That’s already ~80%+ of global consumption. Also, the success or failure of tariffs, sanctions, and other trade barriers can only be evaluated over the long term. Decades. Success shows up in the relative economic performance of North vs South Korea, for example.

The large tariff from China is a crime of the leaders who doesn't know how to raise money of its own economy, the foreign leaders want easy money so they could use toward to their own failed agenda, China is helping the poor people of the world so they would have extra money to live. So when American put a 100% tariff then they make 100% easy money and then bank add another 100% to that merchandise then the consumer will end up paying more than what China selling to people who could not afford to pay expensive merchandise, the greedy leaders don't really care about his or her own citizen, the only thing they do is to hurt more the consumer and hurting more of their own citizen, Thank you China for helping the poor people of the world,🙏🙌✌️ while the leaders of western world greediness " make their citizen suffer more😢😢😢

I know, it is sad and terrible. As a child, I thought ALL vegetables came from cans!! I did not learn about gardens till I was much older. I started life as a normal looking kid, then was fed a diet of highly processed foods by my mother till my mid teens, but the damage was done. Most Canadians will claim it is too short a growing season or too difficult to grow their own food, because they have been trained for generations to rely on cheap and easy processed food. Most homes now focus on having a lovely green (and inedible) lawn instead of a garden full of food.
