Did you know that people have been finishing large slabs of wood for thousands of years WITHOUT all that expensive tech? Anyone who cannot bring that slab down to an 80 grit finish (without the pattern marks), probably isn't talented enough to watch this video.
And there are a few comparable drill guides to this one that are a lot less expensive than woodpecker. Not knocking their products, just their ridiculous pricing
I have used other drill guides, they are not nearly as sturdy as this one. I was able to use this to drill some steel square tube too with no deflection at all. It's very sturdy.
Using a drill guide to ensure I get perfectly straight holes and insert these threaded inserts straight for the legs on this table. The guide is extremely easy to use and allows me to get drill press quality straight holes in the middle of this large table top. As an added bonus, I also used the same guide to ensure the threaded inserts went in straight as well. This setup made this task quick and easy while maintaining the accuracy I needed! Yeah, but you should’ve cut a shim to support the guide when overhanging the recess. I guess you don’t really care about your work. I mean there’s no way it’s perfectly straight now. Which will ultimately cause the table to fail and your children to be destitute. In all seriousness, woodpecker’s drill guide looks so much better than my garage sale find!
For all the naysayers, work smarter! For all of the supporters, agreed this is a great idea. This will hold and support most weekend projects that most RU-vidrs get into!!
You're guess is as good as mine! I assume it's because I work for a company creating content, so they feel like they can just attack it, not understanding that it's a real person on the other side of it making the content. That's just my guess though.
@@ToolsToday I was wondering if it’s some weird result of RU-vid’s algorithm. It doesn’t know if comments are negative or positive, so it’s almost like it’s recommending your content to people who don’t want it. Simply because they commented on your videos. Other RU-vid channels with epoxy videos don’t seem to get the same level of hate. Weird
Making a submarine out of some 1-1/2" thick 15lbs density HDU foam for a local event on the CAMaster Panther CNC machine. I was flying through the material at 400ipm and taking a .75" depth per pass with the compression bit. The machine worked perfectly and I could have definitely upped the feed rate even more! So cool, in the early'80s I had to manually set all my Z axles, royal pain but with some jury rigging could usually maintain 7-10 mill and use varying thickness of backing material😊
We get a lot of questions about how the Auto Tool Changer works, and it works by knowing the difference in height between each bit. I installed both bits into the tool holders and measured the offset, or difference in height, between both bits. The machine now knows the difference and when I set my z zero position to the material it can now adjust when it swaps out for the bits.
