Brussels Muzieque is a versatile collaborative classical music platform based in the capital of Europe. Our purpose is to promote musical culture at the highest standards in all of its different acting fields. Originally, as a main activity, Brussels Muzieque is a regular monthly concert series; we grew furthermore into a digital channel producing our exclusive videos. The development of pedagogical projects in the form of masterclasses and agenting our programs and musicians, and organizing concerts and festivals abroad as well, also figure among our activities. Our artists have been carefully chosen from among the concertmasters and soloists of the most prestigious Belgian and European orchestras (London Philharmonia, Brussels Philharmonic, Brussels Opera House 'La Monnaie', Belgian National Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, Antwerp Symphony, Flanders Symphony Orchestra) and artists of the highest level who reside in Belgium or are invited from all over Europe.
This honors the richness of the original while totally reimagining it in a way I found convincing and moving. Like the melancholy of Strayhorn meets that of Schmidt and it all works.
Very beautiful playing! I love J D Braun, and would be very interested to hear some of the flute sonatas played on bassoon. And the 6 sonatas opus 4 would, I think, be very good as bassoon duets.
If Shonberg had stopped here he would have been a very popular composer instead of the daring and determinedly difficult composer he became because he held on to the Hegelian / Marxist idea that all of music was leading up to him and his New Vienna School which meant that perfection would be achieved. What a beautiful version of this magnificent piece. It truly captured the beauty of the prelude for this incredibly innovative opera. The opening "Tristan chord" is very clearly delineated by the string instruments. It was an excellent idea making an arrangement for a chamber music. Congratulations!
