NAK is a new adventure: to create a place that approaches the cottage industry of sewing in a way that connects people in Tucson. My goal is to bring people out of their kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms, attics and basements to share some time together creating.
From the Sewing Basics to the more advanced pattern making and design classes, Needles And Knots provides a multidisciplinary approach that “seamlessly” translates ideas into experiences.
Classes, lessons, and workshops will be hosted both in person at our local location as well as online virtual meet ups like Zoom.
The concept behind NAK was developed by Shauna Smith in Austin, Texas at her premier sewing lounge called First Samples where over 2000 students learned about fashion sewing. The studio was honored nationally by Time Magazine, Taunton Press and more.
This was super helpful as I completed these as my first garment sewing project!! They turned out way better than if I attempted to make this just based off the pattern 🥹
I'm a beginner sewist in fact this is my first project. I'm doing these in linen which I've hand dyed. I'm in for a wooooorld of pain, I know, but thanks to you I'm going for it anyway! Brilliant video thank you 😊

I just came across your channel. What a breath of fresh air. This sewing tutorial was 'real', which is what I loved so much about it. You really have a knack of explaining things for every level of sewist. This video was such a joy to watch . . .
Thank you! That little room is really a luxury, I know. I spent many years working out of an apartment about twice that size and had to get really creative with how things were organized. I slept on a cutting table like that at night then tucked my matt away so I could use the table to make patterns on during the day.
This is definitely the spring break camp for your family! Trust me, she is so much fun, my kids have had so many great experiences with her in her sewing shop. I'm so glad she's doing this.
