What, no linkert? No adjust for the fun of it, no cool nostalgic bird deflector. Motor cold, lever to choke and kick once or twice. Then ing on, carb lever to start, kick start. If you want a mikuni ride a Yamaha. Its a side valve, it's going need a menhanic, all new looking parts and no linkert.
Hello Calvin The linkert was installed after the initial startup. This was simply to check that the engine would start. However, I would say that I believe that there are no wrongs in this debate. Some like originals and prefer linkerts and others prefer Mikuni.
I always use brake cleaner. I can buy it in 5l bottles for cheap and it works really well in situations where I'm not interested in using soap and water.
@@frankfurther3828 I've been told that the ball bearings are the original and the rollers are used with worn parts where the balls have made a groove in the parts.
Thank you for this series. I have been working on my late Grandfather's 1942 45ci solo over the past few months. Just completed the transmission and your clutch assembly and carburetor video's are the next step for me. Very helpful!!! Congratulations on achieving your first start!
Hi Charles. Thank you for showing your appreciation on the content. I try to make videos that I would enjoy watching myself. I am by no means an expert on the 45s, but please feel free to ask questions in the comment section. That way I or other viewers might be able to help you out.
