Superb. It brings home to you what this non-league game is all about. I buy my halftime cup of tea at the top hut from a lady who is, well, getting on a bit and I was amazed to see her in the Bedford crowd at Leighton. It's people like her, and all the rest of them, that have such a passion for their own club and deserve all the plaudits that they get.
That was a big shift from the whole team and Bedford controlled most of the game. Much respect to Blakey for going over and shaking hands with a bunch of Leighton teenagers who had been barracking him for the last 20 minutes.
Mate are you for real. That was the most aggressive and unnecessary tackle I’ve ever seen. The rest of your team knew it too, letting them down is an understatement
Lee looks gutted. No need to be, it's been a great season so far given that they've had so many changes - I reckon only 2 of Saturday's starters started the first game of the season. You can't get continuity and consistency when you have to change your team every week and it would be interesting to know how many players have turned out over the season - it feels like about 40. They create a lot of chances which is a good sign - they've hit the woodwork 11 times in the last 4 games. It's 90% there and none of the fans feels let down. COYE.
Interesting stat: Bedford hit the woodwork 8 times in the 2 Kempston games. Hit the post 3 times, all in the first half. Hit the crossbar 5 times, all in the second half. A solid performance from the Eagles. Don't know how they do it with what looks like a different team every week.
That was one hell of a shift from the whole team. Smudger had to make one save to make in the game - in the 91st minute - no chance with the goal, a cross which got the slightest of toe ends and bounced into the goal apologetically . Big effort from Dulson, Watkins and Mensah in particular. Dunstable very pretty until they got anywhere near the penalty area.
That was an awful game on a clay pudding of a pitch that's really Sunday league quality. The pitch and a strong wind consigned any attempt to play football to the bin although Barton seemed happy with a draw from about 5 minutes in and every throw in and goal kick seemed to take an eternity. Wouldn't surprise me if somebody told me that the ball was off the pitch more than on it and it was quite surprising to see more than 3 passes at a time. 90 minutes of drudgery that I shan't get back.
Sounds like the usual Bedford performance-give the opposition a sniff in the second half. For a new team that can't seem to be able to put out the same side every week, they've done a great job.
There's no chance the Bedford support outnumbered ours. I'd estimate there was about 60-70 from Bedford (which is still excellent compared to other teams in this league) but yeah we certainly had more fans there.
I feel for you, at least you are honest, your comments show your passion and commitment, at least you can say that you always give 100% let’s hope that both you and GT are still involved with the club next season.
From A Bromsgrove Sporting Fan's Point Of View \ How Refreshing To Hear Such A Fair Interview !!! Also At Least Ten People Said To Me After The Game " Safe Journey Home Mate !! " When They Were Obviously Very Disappointed With The Result. And A Lovely Atmosphere Away From The Game Itself ( Which By The Way Was No Place For Shrinking Violets !! ) But The Genuine Welcome That One Felt In The Impressive Social Club ; Was Typical Throughout This Friendly Club. Congratulations To All The Player's For Giving It Their All !! And Both Managers Who Attacked Throughout !! :-- Entertaining It May Have Been & Some Decisions Upset Both Clubs ; But Full Mark's To The Referee ; Some Feat To Get Through That Match !!
