Merveilleuses interprétations sur ce mythique grand orgue. J'ai découvert ce jeu si souple et limpide à Saint Séverin il y a 3 jours, sur un répertoire somme tout assez voisin et interprétés d'une "main de Maître" dont il voudra bien me pardonner le raccourci (sans ses pieds donc, pourtant ci inspirés aussi dans son jeu). Maintenant abonné, j'attendrai avec plaisir vos futures parutions. Quelle maîtrise mêlée de délicatesses !
Does this Alexandre harmonium have an Expression and/or Percussion stop? I can't see the stop names well, and wonder if Mr. Fielding uses the Expression or Percussion during the performance. Thanks.
cher William, c'est un grand plaisir de vous entendre dans ce beau programme, largement hommage aux grands maitres français de l'orgue - hormis Johann Sebastian Bach, bien évidemment, planétaire ! - , tellement adapté à ce grand Cavaillé-Coll de St Sernin. Je vous souhaite de bien profiter de vos années d'études à Toulouse et ailleurs en France, avec beaucoup de bonheur aux claviers de ces orgues prestigieux, entourés de grands professeurs organistes . Permettez-moi de noter au passage l'absence de Ch-M Widor dans votre programme, dont les symphonies se prêtent tellement à ces grands Cavaillé-Coll, en particulier "la Romane", dédiées à St Sernin, avant "la Gothique" dédiées à St Ouen de Rouen, autre merveille de l'immense Aristide C-C . mais u vu de votre programme, vous me semblez davantage porté sur la méditation que sur l'orgue symphonique. Superb renditions on an organ I have never heard before today. I close my eyes and almost think I am hearing Daniel Roth at St. Sulpice (I have many of his recordings). But, wait! That flute is different; the inflections and articulation are a bit different. I have a 1975 record of Maurice Duruflé playing his Prélude et Fugue sur le nom d’Alain on the twin M.P. Möller organs at the National Shrine in Washington, D.C. I believe that he smiled up in Heaven as you played his lovely piece. And the Bach was registered to perfection! [One small critical remark: Please let the reverberations continue until all the sound is gone before stopping the recording.]
