That 85 olds is a PERFECT candidate for a frame and powertrain swap for a post war hot rod, Which has become a VERY popular thing to do now because these mid 70's-mid 80's cars are so cheap to buy and almost noone is rebuilding them by themselves.
The '63 Valiant is the perfect car; it fits my image as a musician. It's worth it; that dent can be pulled easily. I don't know ANY other existing Valiant of this era that's as clean as THIS one is.
I would love to find a fully restored 1966 Ford Ranch Wagon! That was my First Car! Kids today are so spoiled; getting high end cars! At age 16 in 1974, I was thrilled to get that car which was quite beaten up by then!!!
You can find a replacement trunk lid for your '69 Chrysler Newport at several salvage yards near Cape Girardeau, MO. I suggest starting with Junior Sinn Auto Parts, located in Cape Girardeau, which specializes in used auto parts and has a good reputation for quality and service. Another option is Tri-State U-Wrench & Save Auto Parts in Jackson, MO
The mid-to late 70's (73-79) Muscle cars has become a REALLY popular build since the Covid Lockdowns, and the late 70's mid 80's full size cars like that 78 Old 98 are becoming a popular frame swap for budget post war hot rods.
You’re right! Late '70s muscle cars have become popular since the pandemic, and big cars like the '78 Oldsmobile 98 are now common choices for frame swaps into hot rods. Interesting trend for modifications!
@@kingna Yeah it is, Idk where your at but I'm in Eastern SoCar and just about every post War Hot built in the last 4 or 5 years here are sitting on a Late 70's to Mid 80's Frame, Yeah are smogged to death but they are realible and cheap, I have a buddy that has a 53 Chevy Fleetline sitting on a 81 Olds Delta 88 frame with the original Delta drive train in it, he basically just took the body off the Delta and put the Fleetline body on it. He's got less than 3k in the entire build including paint.
