Hi, Have an old Bridgestone 175,trying to upgrade rectifier. Bike has no stater, it has an AC generator and a 3 phase selenium rectifier. The new solid state unit has 6 wires, with 4 yellow. Any ideas?
Thanks for this excellent tutorial. I followed it to set the timing and points gap. One difference I had was with the test light. It was either on, or off. No flickering. Also, after the firing on 1-4 was indicated the light stayed on until I had rotated the crank probably another 90 degrees. Not sure why this is the case unless the points are sticking. More investigation needed!
i ordered the valve spring upgrade kit on your website and im wondering if it is okay that the end of the valve stem sticks out a little past the hole in the top of the washer past the keepers, is that okay/normal?
Got a friend who bought an '84 650 a month ago for $2500 and is rebuilding the carbs. Gonna forward him this video. It's a beautiful bike but has been sitting 5 or 6 years with 11K on it and needs some TLC. Thanks for your demonstration.
1973 Honda CB450......gasoline leaks out onto the floor when I set it to reserve tank....it does not leak when I have fuel set to on or off. Any suggestions for a fix?
You guys produce some great videos i learned a lot from watching them. My question is my clutch seems to be grabbing almost all the way out. I have a 3/16 free play in the handel. Is the adjustment in the cable at the handel or do i need to adjust push rod. And then maybe handle. Thanks if you could help me out

Hay I have a question. For u I have two Coi and 4 wiyers it's. 1992 Kawasaki ninja 1100 cc I geting spark from 3and 4 coil. Not 1 and 4. Tho I tested them every thing check out except 1and 4 coil wiyers. The positive side of coil is good but her where it get tricky the ground side on 3and 4 go 43210 on my reader. The ground side on 1and 4. Gos 432 and stays at two. I can't get it to 0 like 3and4 side dose on negative side. Do u have any idea. O and if I tack a ground wiyers to the nagetive side of the coil. 1and4 it spark and gos thi to spark plug but if I leave on there it dose nothing do u think it's my crank shaft sensor. I lost the magnet on the back so I put some mangnets in the back. But I lost the 1And4 again u have any ideas
Great video. Thanks for sharing, but how do i ask you a question. I see there's no reply from you with any of the other comments. I picked up a 1975 Honda CB 500 T and I noticed the running lights are not lighting up. Can I just take the 2 wires you talked about in the headlight and put it to a black positive and leave it like that. For them to stay on all the time
Good vid. I was able to install front and rear LED turn signal lights and LED brake light on my 88 Honda NT650. Have you replaced your instrument cluster bulbs with LED's? I was told the reason my signal indicator does not work is because it's a regular style bulb and needs to be an LED. My oil light still works so I didn't know if this info is correct. Any thoughts?
You are an excellent teacher, you break everything down in such and easy-to-digest manner that even a beginner who hasn’t done much motorcycle work before can understand. Thank you for making this video, and for educating me so well.
Hi, i am trying to connect up a horn on a non battery(just a regulator) enduro bike, do i go horn to the switch then both to the regulator or another supply? that's my thinking on it anyway!! many thanks
Great video, very informative. One question, I followed this but can't get it to bleed. No fluid is getting passed the reservoir. I did air blast all the holes before reinstalling. Anyone got any ideas? I've bled loads of brakes in the past and never had a problem before.
My brake pads sucked right up to the rotor after following this video religiously. I have no idea how to get the pads to back off. Even after attempting to bleed again it doesn't change the pad distance from the rotor. The caliper swing arm is fine and well lubed so it's not that either. Any suggestions?
So I was trying to do this on my 1979 Honda GL100..... The rectifier on my bike just looks like a diode. It's got one wire in and one out😅 how would I go about installing it
First of thanks for the tutorial, im restoring my old cb125s so its very helpfull. Do you or anyone have an idea what the problem might be if the light lights most of the rotation and only goes out for a short moment. So its kind of reversed to what you showed 😂
My shaft doesnt have contact points, but pickups. Pickup plate are static. If i want to change timing should i adjust cranks/advancers bolt somehow? if so how can i do that if my engine spins.
88 Honda NT650 with a neutral switch issue. 12v getting to pin wire connector. 12v getting to plug wire connector (other half) that plugs to neutral switch. 12v getting to neutral bulb. Test light connected to pin wire connector (that runs to neutral switch) no joy. I removed my neutral switch and cleaned it, but still not working. Does this read like the actual switch gave up the ghost?
I gave up on my 72 cb350 because I couldn't get quality coils. Repair genius tried to convince me that single lead new coils would work but they would immediately blow out.
Okay dumb question. My 1979 GL100 rectifier only has 2 prongs coming off of it and looks like a fuse and sits next to the battery, could I still use a regulator rectifier in this situation? 😅
I have a yezdi roadster with stock 13 in front and 45 in rear ( i might have wrong info) want to change it to 12 front and 48 or 52 rear will it increase my mileage as well as will have taller gear soo I have to shift less in trafic and better at highway cruising and will it be better for ladhak ride or Nepal ride.
Amazing video! I've been looking for information on how to get the dust cover off everywhere. The only thing it's missing are torque specs (bottom allen bolt, and maybe top cap and oil drain bolt).
CMC is the standard for learning on vintage Honda’s- they’ve taught me that diagnosis and troubleshooting your vintage Honda is not a wall stopping you but a hill to be climbed…And its great to stand on top of that hill with your engine ticking! Thanks guys!
my husband put that little "winter" mesh shield in where the chin is (chin curtain?), and he can't get it back out. Do you know if it has a release button, or do you just force it out?
