This is brilliance? A three-chord B minor/G/A vamp? People: wake up. Start with Steely Dan's Aja album if you wish to toss the word "brilliance" around. Then segue into Close To The Edge from Yes. Now you have just scratched the surface.
@@tunanorth Well okay, if you say so, but this is a nauseating, sophomoric 47 seconds of a juvenile 3-chord vamp. Are we supposed to be impressed because the ladies are pretty? The violet stage lighting is nice, though.
I look at this differently: when musicians perform on stage, their job is to _be entertaining._ That's all. How they achieve that is up to them, and if people in the audience form the opinion that the performance was "brilliant", then they're right. If you think that technical musical ability, or complex songs with obscure chords, unusual structures and clever use of scales makes a band more entertaining, then you're welcome to that opinion, but your opinion carries no more weight than that of someone who finds The Warning, or any other band, entertaining.
According to your criteria music peaked at "Rush E", it is not about how many notes you can cramp together, it is about the music makes you feel, and you are leaving a lot of context out of what this 47 seconds really are.
@@1man1guitarletsgo Okay, I'm happy to grant you this - I cannot argue with it, but musically there's nothing happening in this 3-chord vamp. Nothing. Conversely, I'm no real fan of Hendrix, but listen to what that band does with a 3-chord vamp in All Along the Watchtower. There's just no comparison. The "problem" today is that audiences are just too dumbed-down by over-produced and over-hyped mediocrity. They know no better, so they think this 47 seconds is exceptional. Here's the deal: bands like Yes and Steely Dan could play the Warning's 3-chord vamp (engagingly) until the cows come home. Now, give these three ladies Heart of the Sunrise or Aja to play and see if they can produce it.
That was great, although I prefer the version at TEDx 2017 !! And what's with the cameraman moving around so much .. no wonder I get dizzy watching some of the videos ... stand still dude !
Just binging on them at the moment, gonna see them on 25th July at the Academy in Dublin Ireland, only a few weeks away, the thing is with them, no boobs hanging out or twerking in your face, just pure talent, definitely getting the t shirt at this one, bringing my grandson, gotta educate him.
@@vincentstephenson2397 The guy in the ball cap at Ale's feet...that's me. I was on the rail at both Birmingham and Leeds, it was an amazing experience 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
