I can't really blame any of them. I've yet to find a reliable answer to Giganter Kai, myself. Keyword being "reliable". Almost anything CAN beat Kai, but almost nothing will ever beat Kai twice...Unless there's a trick I dont know about, yet. (Don't say down-back. Against Kai, down-back is basically consent.)
best way to avoid barrier is to either jump over, or faultless defense it 3 times. faultels defense gives you more knockback so unless you are in the corner, you move faster then potemkin can catch up fully, so it's donsn't put that much pressure onto you and doesn't potemkin too much advantage. If potemkin is close thou, or if you are in the corner, blocking the advance might be harder, or you will be in for a potemkin grab if he gets his timing right. jumping over it is the best option on some characters, but you could fuck it up, or the potemkin was prepared for it and was waiting for it to fuck you up, especially dangerous if potemkin has 2 tension bars and can intercept the jump with a heavenly potemkin buster. overall, the wall is not there to damage you, if it does it's a nice bonus, but it is really easy to dismantle and also it is a fairly slow move and if used as a reaction, doesn't do that much damage. what the wall is there for, is pressuring you into doing something the potemkin can exploit. especially on lower end of the play thou, yeah some people just walk into it or don't know what it can do and how to deal with it, especially funny when people don't realize the wall hit always causes a wall break in the corner.
Bro, these clips are absolutely hilarious. I love the moment at 7:20 where you can only see the command grab long enough to hear Potemkin audibly pog before committing 1st-degree murder.
Honestly, I just run straight into the wall and start blocking low until Potemkin jumps. The way I see it, it's safer to get it out of the way by blocking three times before it pushes me into a back corner.
