When using solvent base and comparing the two, your eye will always go to the waterborne paimt the reason is the solvent used to thin the paint makes the color dull compared to the waterborne as when the water evaporates your left with the true color..I suggest calling BASF.
Just have a question . I'm here in the states and I am restoring that exact Porsche my 71 Targa even came in that bright green that one was at first. I noticed that you replaced all the interior upholstery and I was wondering is there a place to buy those armrests they a near impossible to fine here. By the way an incredible transformation. What a beauty
Hello ARC… At the 1:01 mark of the video, You show a few Fuchs wheels with an almost mirror like finish on the bowl. I am currently restoring my 911 Fuch wheels and I’d like to achieve a similar result. I don’t have the high speed lathes/machines You do, but I am able to spin it and sand the aluminum with various grits. Whats the highest grit level of sandpaper that You go to to achieve this shine?? I will be using 0000 Steel Wool, 2000, 3000, 5000, 7500 & 10,000, and then Mother’s Metal Polish. Thoughts?
I don't know if you did something, but you can scotch brite them, then 600 grit with water to keep the paper clean and some polishing bar that you apply with a polishing wheel mounted on a cord drill. Use a coarse paste, but careful of not creating waves on the aluminium, then you can use a fine grit paste, wich is "dryer" to get a nice finish. End the polishing with some copper/brass polishing with coton rag,you will at least have the finish shown here, and even more if you want.
Merci d'avance! Vincent
