@@Seminole81 you need a plastic pry tool to ease under the plastic clips at the bottom. The pry tool allows evenly distributed pressure under the clips so they pop out without breaking. The clips are similar in construction to the clips that hold the wheel arch covers in place. Once they are out, the wire is easy to remove. Have a look at this thread: f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2003895
The focus of the wash changes depending on the time of year. In the summer it’s the front of the vehicle that usually needs extra attention (mainly bug removal). In the winter it’s the back section of the wheel arches and the rear of the vehicle. Wheels are just as susceptible to harsh chemicals as paintwork so I rarely use anything other than pH balanced soap. If the wheels are heavily contaminated then I’ll give them a spray with Red 7 ( Autosmart), clean off then then a spray with Flash Professional Citrus at 1:50 dilution rate. The bottom half of the vehicle gets the same snow foam and soap as the rest of the car.
i find 2 loses wires in the back of my van, when i open my rear door the dome lights don't working but i put those two wires together for a second then lights comes, again i put those two wires together again for a second and the light is off then i close my rear doors used the alarms in my key and everything work find. so i will buy 2-Pack 12mm Momentary Metal Waterproof Push Button Switch Raised Head 1/2" Mounting Hole with Pre-soldered Cable 250V 3A 1NO in amazon and installed left side were those wires are and when i open the rear door i push the bottom light on when i finish push bottom again close my rear doors then alarm.
help! i drove through a car wash and accidentally had wax added. My canvas top is loaded with wax and I can't get it out. Any tricks? It is melting down my windows and into the door panel.
You need a degreaser to remove the wax. Dawn dish soap (if you're in the USA) or Fairy liquid (if you're in the UK). 1 squirt into a bucket of warm water. Clean the roof using the soap solution and a sponge (bath sponge is great for this - use the exfoliating side). Rinse off with water then apply a suitable waterproof product to the fabric - follow manufacturers instructions. good luck !
Very good, that hood looked terrible before you started! Brilliantly clean when you finished. Can you recommend a product to waterproof the hood afterwards?
Great info but still cant leave open the sliding side door on my 2021 model as assume the sensor is done differently in that. Anyone know how to solve that riddle?
someone already answered you, you just pull the handle to open the door and it releases the latch, not a great fix for the lights though. just unplug them
I have some haze spots left by my body shop from a bad polishing job. Will fixing it cause the clear coat to be even thinner and duller? Are there any downsides to just leaving it as is?
I have a Mercedes CLK 320 convertible because I have been ill for last 6 years the cars interior has faded slightly and the roof is very dirty on roof i took my car twice in two days to clean around 60% of the dirt off. I did put it up for sale at £3895 I've not sold it partly because I don't want to part with it. My future plans are to have my alloy wheels refurbished. The roof further cleaning. And detail the engine bay. The arches on each wheel could do with some flatting and painting.. Its long over due.. Funny I used to enjoy valeting but as I presently live in 3rd floor flat I am stuffed.. Great video..
@@ceramixdetailing29 thank you, i plan on starting this as well. how do you find these cars… ive been scouring facebook marketplace and i see no good deals where the cars are mechanically sound but are just really dirty and need paint correction. All seem to be priced too high or not dirty enough or have something mechanically wrong with them. Thank you
@@alexblagoev5281 I have contracts with solicitors where I detail vehicles that form part of a deceased estate. These vehicles are usually in very good condition mechanically but have been left for months due to the owner becoming unwell then sadly passing away. Sometimes I’m offered the vehicles in their present state rather than pay me to detail them and then have to sell the cars. I also purchase from Synetiq which is where you should start. It costs about £50 for an annual subscription. I only ever buy category x vehicles ( unrecorded) and only police disposal. These cars have been seized for no insurance or disqualified driver and are less likely to have serious mechanical defects. I aim to make £1,000 profit from each sale and target sub £5,000 vehicles. This price bracket means that buyers normally have the funds, don’t have to get finance and don’t try and include a part ex in the deal. Quick straightforward transactions 👍
@@alexblagoev5281 In the USA it is slightly different and a lot easier to track down vehicles that have been seized by the police and are then put up for auction. In most states, the towing and storage company that has the contract with the police to tow vehicles normally deals with the sales of the cars. This happens if the owners cannot afford the towing and storage costs. Each state publishes the name and contact details of the towing companies that hold the contracts. If I were you, I'd find out this information for yours and neighbouring states and contact the towing companies directly. They will tell you when auctions are held and you can go from there. This is an article I found online which is an example of the information you can collect from simple internet based research: www.nccourts.gov/help-topics/traffic-and-vehicles/vehicle-seizure
