Don't think for one minute . . . we're falling for this greenwash nonsense. We need to stop wasting so much, not paying companies to be burying in the ground and forgetting about it.
Energy recovery doesn't have to be incineration. It can also be landfill, as long as the landfill gas is captured and then burnt to generate electricity (rather than simply being flared off or allowed to escape into the atmosphere).
This is only glorified incineration. We live in the future, not the past. Incineration is discouraged in the EU for a reason. There are better tech that convert waste to products. Comparing incineration to landfill and saying it is better, is a race to the bottom of the two WORST waste management strategies in existence.
The government keep banging on about recycling but years ago we used to give the pop man the bottles back And the milkman aswell But now even milk is in plastic bottles and not all plastic gets recycled But 30 years ago it was all glass bottles which went back to the company and the company washed them out and reused them. So what changed that then ho , it's about money 💸 isn't it
We use our COVENTA in a global green wheelie bin plan to Depopulate the planet....over the last 30 years estimates between 200 million and 400 million dead in Ireland are being bounced around...that is what happened when the world bank's Human Genome Project over ran it's deadline by almost 20 years

if you wanted to to have a closed loop dose it matter if you mix green, brown and clear glass to make in to new glass bottles or do they have to be sorted by colour ?
This Video You have Made To Show How Wonderfull and Green Viridor are . It Shows nothing They Dont Want you To see just like broadpath landfill uffculm when i try to find a picture of the huge hole you dumped waste into for years and likely to be leaking into the river culm as viridors thin plastic sheet is all that protects our valley. , laeky leachate ! nasty and you know it thats why i believe you have to evaporate it rather than dispose of it in a proper mannor ie avon mouth sewers. i was told in the draught you still got 23 tankers of leachate a day out of their, well done boys.
absolutely fantastic creation, please upload more for me and my 2 kids, I live on my own and sometimes feel lonely if I cannot have the pleasure of watching videos about energy from waste, especially videos made by this splendid channel, hashtag, ILOVEVIRIDOR!
Lol funniest video I have seen for a long time. Am I right in believing that you have managed to wipe out south England’s biggest tree sparrow colony? And is it true that all the key species you were to protect are now either extinct on the site or in terminal decline? Though I’m sure you could find an ecologist to put spin on it all and make it look like you’re actually doing a good job - don’t believe the hype peoples

Having a true circular economy within the UK coupled with a commitment to deal with our 'waste' without exporting is a really important tool to start to deal with the plastics mess we find ourselves with. Viridor have opened up a plant to process higher end plastic recyclate - we need many more. We also need to look at how we deal with the film packaging - for most people this is now the main residue in their bin. This can also be recycled but needs appropriate fiscal measures to set up plants for things like plas wood production and re-processing. At the moment there are lots of people on the fringes doing some good stuff - but the economcs needs to be rebalanced to make it effective
