Thanks for this video. Positive feedback to Garmin for replacing my 4 yr old 86xx unit after the screen delaminated. Prior to getting the new unit, I was able to save all my waypoint and breadcrumb data, but I need a refresh on the Autopilot function - which I use so infrequently, I forgot how to enable it. The Route button on the SeaStar module, of course! (not engaged from the Garmin unit.) Thanks again.
I don’t think I understand your question. You want to figure out the max at speed and then set it to trim that much when on level 5 and then the other lower numbers are less aggressive.
@@shanemccormack4840 my current active trim on level 1 goes all the way to 35 which is too much, trying to recalibrate it again to around 20-25, how do i do it? My question is how do i set active trim 1 to trim up to 25%?
You can make the cross track error as low as 10m. I can’t remember if you need the dealer menu access or not. It will be under seaways settings/alerts and warnings….. the system will always be trying to keep the cross track error at the smallest amount possible and the setting is more an alarm if greater than alert. If you are getting alerts that are XTE(cross track error) you probably need to make sensitivity adjustments. Hope this helps!

You've got a 250A c/b, which is kind of superfluous with the Balmar 614/618. They cannot deliver more than max set output. But c/b is good for cable-short outs. But have you got an Alternator Protection Device to clamp alternator output voltage in case of BMS shutdown, or blown fuse, or some dickhead turning off battery when engine is running.
My god. Why don't most people set up their serpentine belts for MORE THAN about 30% friction on the alternator pulley? Especially for a 200A (2800w) load. There really should be an idler pulley between your water pump and your alternator pulley to push the belt inwards and make 50% pulley traction. Belt is therefore longer. Reduces belt slip, belt heat, belt stretch, belt fluff, bearing wear. Look up the manufacturer's specs on a 6PK rib belt. Load rating is for half circle contact.
Unless you have the new style controls with CCM built in you need the active trim module. The video I posted was after installing the active trim module, probably should have mentioned that in the video…. Sorry🚤💨

Hello from France I can't get my activ trim to work. The programming is proceeding normally but when I go sailing the trim don't move and after a few seconds I have an error message telling me to take the trim manually. I have a simrad GO9 with the vesselview link and a Mercury v6 225hp engine. My boat has already returned once to the seller and an update of the active trim module has been done, but without success. Do you have an idea ?
It’s possible the active trim module is not in a good spot to receive gps signal. Also could be a bad active trim module. You would need to have your local dealer plug into the SmartCraft network and check it…. Hope this helps!

Looking at this for twin 4jh3-dte intstallation, he other option was dual alternators using the stock and a leece-Neville bld 160a but it would be even more money!, I see this was recently installed, are you happy with the choice?
