This is genuinely my favourite cover of any song ever. I love the bass and I can tell how much you were enjoying yourself while playing this!! Amazing performance! :)
I love the Fender vs Rickenbacker discussion because I have a 4001 and a P.Bass. I love them both! The Fender is more of an all-rounder but the Rickenbacker has a voice like no other bass. Anyone with a Rick should mess around with the tone settings - it's just FUN! Keep the pickup selector in the middle position and see what sounds you get by panning both tone controls all through their range. When you find a tone you like, don't forget you can also blend things with the volume pots. I made the blunder of diming all the controls for too many years but the thing has an infinite array of voicings!
You’re not teaching anybody anything you’re just showing up for yourself if you’re going to post something on video on RU-vid you should at least teach somebody how to play what you’re playing narcissist
Nice video man but your playing it wrong. Great teaching style. You mess up on several parts though and I don't want people to try to learn this from you and get these things wrong. Love your teaching and playING style so maybe if you re-record it this video will be great. Also some buzz on you low e on the the f# and g
Line 6 POD HD500. I used the separate outputs on it to send the signal to both channels on the amp. The chorus channel is receiving a clean signal with a spring reverb and a bit of compression. The dry channel is receiving an emulated Mesa Dual Rectifier with matching a 412 cab. The global EQ on the POD HD500 is also low passing at 5 kHz to reduce unwanted fizz.
this is incorrect. that D note placed at 5:56 is NOT there on Geddys version In fact all D notes placed in that pattern are not there either. its a 6 note descending pattern, not a 7 note descending pattern Please note at 2:03 to 2:34. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AU3oytIiBfU.html you seem like a solid player and excellent teacher. i played this wrong for years too LOL Best wishes
Because I couldn't get it closer to the ceiling with the provided hardware. It's been hanging there with no wear on the mount for 7 years. It's not going anywhere.
What tuning are you using? I've been trying to learn this one and it seems like Doug uses a 4 string live on this song, but he hit that low C frequently during the guitar solo.
