Yes you can use any number of inputs but you have to take care that the voltage applied should not exceed the configuration of op-amp. Means the theoretical and experimental values should be comparable

Result show that the gains of both are equal, but in inverting mode = 1 and non inverting mode = 2. please clarify.

Gain of inverting mode is the ratio of feedback resistance to input resistance with negative sign. Non inverting mode gain is 1+ Rf/Ri. So we'll get 2 in non inverting mode
