It's not quite clear, but I assume this is a blown-out easter egg, in which case it is a permanent object. (I think the black dot on one end is to cover up the hole.)
cyclonickitten It's an empty eggshell, so as long as it's not broken it will last years. My family has some eggs that are 30+ years old. Some people use varnish to add further protection.
