In 1980s after the 1980 general election, the late DP president general Paul Kawanga Ssemogerere was the leader of opposition in the parliament between 1980 to 1985. Before the military coup of 1985. That time presidential election was not there.
Prof, the LoP position should be dispensed with. In South Africa, there is no LOP, and each party continues to run its own policies. But LoP must be elected by the party MPs and not the whole parliament
Jeez, what’s wrong with these crowns. The guy is reasoning like a child. These Ugandan’s so called MPs are a joke. We as public saw with our own eyes that there’s no procession and, the police was seen throwing tear gas canisters to people going about their business. Canary, please don’t digress your show by bringing these idiots. The guy is utter garbage.
Kanale today you have not been the interviewer, you have been hijacked by this mafia,I can even see it on your face , you have no words either because of his stupidity or you are scared to ask the right questions for fear of being sacked.
How can he say that the police had no intentions of killing Bobi when we heard the commander say "shoot him". Kanale please mutubalemu amagezi ,don't ever bring this idiot to embarrass whoever he is working for. He is trying to defend the bad deeds but actually ending up making the situation look even worse.
What a fool to say that if Bobi wasn't in that place nothing would have happened but without thinking that if the police wasn't there things would have been ok! Kale kino kitumbavu
Has Hon. Seen any footage showing police engaging them/telling them to enter their cars? Kyangulanyi is ahead of his critics. The guy moves while on camera/live streaming. People were watching the happening live.
This MP is not fit for his position from all his ever reasoning which he entitled to. But the president and his group are the best example of disrupting citizens businesses by closing area of business whole day just of one person. I was in Nebbi and Gulu people's businesses. Also am not surprised how he reasons and talk as per the area he represents. Canary please don't argue much with this brain
U guyz from the west think everyone in Uganda is a fool We know U are trying to protect the regime By way U should ask acholis how they tried to protect they govt and the cost they paid
How can you be not a parliamentary and you know more than a member of the parliament knows about the parliament, internship most of the time they cannot give you the whole information about parliament Mugume be careful with your information
Sekikubo we are not fools pliz, you guys are hypocrites trying to find cheap popularity from Ugandanz. When you had a chance to stop that money when the the bill was at the Parliament flow you didn't oppose, why then are you finding it so important now?!!!
@@kimbugwebrian7313 I have not returned to your response in the other trail maybe it’s now that I should duly address your stupidity. The xgratia was hidden in the service award element of budget for x officials who would’ve served their tenure and gone from their previous/immediate positions. Awarding the said commissioners was included as apparently, some still serving. That’s why all this controversy and rightly so. Blaming Ssekikubo who’s sounding an alarm of this erroneous/ fraudulent activity, your being simplistic or rather, I’ll insist that your inept to comprehend issues. Also, please note that this wasn’t a bill . We’re sick of ignorant people like you who come here and expose how poorly our education system is doing.
I believe, with the move of this bill, Uganda's politics is maturing. This is going to strengthen opposition and bring them together, which will act as a strong opposition capable of managing the country as well as accountable to the citizens who are not in the ruling party and bring better understanding to national interests, priorities in development. In some years to come this may result in to forming fewer parties which would easily merge citizens for their interests than focusing just on a mere party. This is an innovation, which usually brings massive discussion. Which I believe if done well will help to cure so much in Parliamentary administration at large.
@@BenAfako-b1r I disagree because there is no where to find opposition parties accountable to parliament in mature democracies apart from adhering to agreed parliamentary rules. But the individual politicians are accountable to party objectives. Otherwise, your advocating to dismantle party politics to create chaotic politics of individual politicians who are very good at seeking their own gains to the highest bidders with no party power to tame their impunity. We have over 100 independent mps in parliament. Who are they accountable to?
@user-et7dm1pd1n this is where a political maturity has to come in, instead of mps only sticking to their party objectives over national issues which definitely affect some critical decisions and if mps in opposition build a strong leadership together to protect the whole citizens than just their party issue, it would serve Uganda better while limiting those with selfish interests or only mind of a particular party than opposition at large, those who vote a leader to put you in a certain position, you will always be accountable to them therefore all these will generate a collective effort towards a common good. Hence, they benefit the local citizens and the country at large.
This guy Henry is stupid when u hear him speak u can think his speech makes sense. They asked him who is LOP accountable to and he's stammering dat he is accountable to de party. How can someone be regarded leader of opposition and at de same time be accountable to de mere party instead of de opposition as a whole. Hon. Lumu's motion is perfect and it will do good dan hurt to de politics of Uganda.
You should have hosted an affiliate to NUP on the show. Lumu is one those who refused to sign the censure motion into corruption. He’s a scum, he’s embarrassed us the people of Mityana South. And, we’re livid waiting for this confused man on the next election. On Dombo, the man will support any rubbish that the public doesn’t agree with. This old man doesn’t look far beyond his big stomach. Shame!.
She is not worth to be leaders to lead uganda if she can't accept to reply to the audience who asked a simple question. Selfish interest are the problem for her the rest of term
Am really really happy dat de likes of Igrid and besigye are gone coz those idiots are full of propaganda. How can igrid say dat Sabiti and group selected de elder's committee yet besigye himself was involved in selecting de elder's committee.
