We are Hatman, Explosion, and the Pocket Master. Together we are called Phoenix Splash. We hope that someday, someone will discover the dreams. Once discovered, the true mission begins.
K-pop is a mainstream product, like fast food or cheap electro domestics; or the equivalent of a cringy movie about a crappy autotune/dancing band with a repetitive/bland/forgettable soundtrack. Popular among the lowest common denominator of music fans: teenagers.
I don't know what to say. I'm a huge fan of K-pop. And I love and appreciate creativity. I love the criticism because every work of art needs that. You have a point. I would judge the song the same way you did since I find it annoying that true creativity keeps dying in art (both visual and performing arts) these days. I'm not a fan of the K-pop artists mentioned in the video, but I can say one thing about the K-pop artists I love (e.g. BTS), their songs were able to give me the things I'm looking for in music; meaning (should make sense), feeling/vibes (helping me switch moods when necessary); A song might not be a new style or really as creative as you expect but if it's able to cool your head on a bad day then it's doing something some creative songs. The final piece is if that song can motivate you to be the best version of yourself. So, innovative or not, I appreciate their effort even if I might not be a huge fan of their music. Music is an art of expression, not impression. Most artists forget that.
"...music being an accompaniment to an image" THIS. JUST THIS. As a kpop fan it is so disheartening when you find a smaller group who has a unique sound and way of producing, they gain traction, especially in the US, and you have to watch their entire discography from then on become just that. (I am not coming after a specific group, I am a multi stan, nobody sacrifice me in the comments pls) Anyway, this is a fantastic video!!
There's a tape recorded dialogue between joy and gui zhang that you can hear at ren's hideout where joy talks about Ryo to Gui Zhang and it doesen't look like she knew about Ryo because of Master Chen.
Yes. I agree. Thanks for commenting on this old video. We played Fatal Fury Special recently and made a nice little vid. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VZqs-7NG78E.html 7 years later. Crazy. I guess we're stuck on the classics. A new Fatal Fury game is exciting. Nice to see the series continue.
TBH some of you guys in the comments are using this video to have an excuse to make fun of all kpop fans by saying “they have no brains” or claim they’re annoying for asking “who’s your bias?”. It’s okay to dislike kpop, but making fun of kpop fans for what they like is not what this video is about. The video explains why the original poster doesn’t like kpop MUSIC, but it doesn’t talk about the fans. Making jokes about the fans is plain rude. There is a difference between the music and the listeners.
What’s the word regarding nostalgia for experiences one has never had? That’s me with the Dreamcast. Looks like a beautiful era of games that I missed.
If you're still reading comments from this video lol, I highly recommend watching Anthony Ray's BTS reactions, he's a music reactor who is very knowledgeable in rap and rock. He just got me into BTS lol. And he seemed like the type to really dislike BTS. Reactions of his I'd recommend - Outro Tear, Rain, Singularity, Baepsae, House of Cards, Dionysus, Ugh, Black Swan, Danger, Louder Than Bombs. I'd also recommend their solo work. Like Haegeum and Snooze by Agust D, one of their rappers (who also produces and writes)
Goddamn. I miss you bro. We gotta hang again. Not in 10 years, but sooner. Lol These fighting jams are how it's like to hang out with the pocket master and no doubt josh.
That was amazing. So many layers... I'm falling behind. I was so proud of my release today (box) but this is just a thousand times better. You raised the bar. Absolutely loved it, the lyrics, the music, the harmonies.
@pointlesswasteoftime Thank you for your kind words. Your releases are really good as always, you might be your harshest critic. I'm glad you liked it though. I took a lot of risks with it. Parallels between.
I'm glad you enjoyed it :) Feel free to check out some of our original music on this channel. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_WcbSNBsWHk.html
