A documentary film that tells the humorous, tragic & simply amazing story of Charlton Comics, Derby CT's infamous comic book company that launched legends.
charlton always holds a special place in my heart. inferior to marvel in almost every way, (atleast in my opinion) but something about them? son of vulcan concept was awesome aswell as the Quesion and Peacemaker. As rime went on i began to appreciate charlton books (Thane,Yang, Monster Hunters, E-Man, Doomsday 1,Horror anthology books were all amazing!) and i found myself trying alot of charlton books. to this day, anytime i discover an old charlton book in the discount bin it makes my heart skip a beat!
2017 has come and gone as we have waited a long time for this documentary, so exactly when will this film be made ,because the rumor was that the film was suppose to be completed by 2017 for a official release date.I remember as a kid growing up during the 70's and 80's reading the Charlton superhero line of characters, even though the books were made of low grade stardards ,I still enjoyed Captain Atom,Nightshade,Blue Beetle,The Question, Peace Maker,Thunderbolt, Judo Master along with Vulcan ,Yang ,Atomic Mouse, and Sgt.Steel just to name a few
So what is going on with this documentary? I know 2020 probably put a hitch in your giddy up like it did for everybody, but now it's 2021. Any updates?
Seriously! Where can i see this? Looks like there's plenty of footage, editing can't take this long! Is there another indigogo or something? The lack of current progress info is kinda frustrating! When I was a comic book kid, I was into marvel and DC. Then I discovered Ditto in the Charlton horror comics, then The Phantom, then all kinds of great stuff.
Yay, Charlton. Yeah, they weren't the best comics out there, but they were often a lot of fun, anyway! Don't know if you cover this in the documentary, but many (not all) of the Charlton comics are in the public domain because Charlton didn't do their copyright notices properly. Check out the Charlton section at Comic Book Plus or Digital Comics Museum.
Shoot! I almost had both my eyeballs out when you said; "Not literally your eye." Well thanks a lot, now I gotta put'em back in, lol! In all seriousness, I cannot wait to see the documentary when it comes out. If you guys need more money, please run an Indie GoGo campaign. I know I'll put it out for everyone to participate in. :)
@@CharltonMovie My channel is about superheroes...you've inspired me to do a video on Charlton's Action Hero Line of the 1960s. Maybe I will do a top ten list?
@@FizzFop1 We are VERY flattered to be inspiring! Go for it! As long as The Question is #1. HAHAHAHA. Just kidding. We'll keep an eye out for it and cross-promote on social media!
I will tag my video with a promotion to your channel and movie as well. My videos take a little time to do so I hope to have it out in a week or two. I'll let you know when it's done.
Will was one of the best interviews we did for the movie. He's a fascinating man with a lifetime of anecdotes. If you ever have a chance to attend a panel or lecture with him, we highly suggest going. Thanks for watching!
Alexa, we loved your grandpa for the short time that we got to spend with him. We showed a lot of the footage we shot with him that day at TerrifiCON this year at our booth played on a constant loop. He was a trailblazer and one of the few at Charlton who knew what they had in the comics department. If only someone in Charlton management cared as much as he did.
