Just got accepted for this year so we applied quite late. Im praying we manage to see lana on saturday. Do u reckon if we pick our shift patterns so that all the ones that would clash are lowest down we will manage to get it even tho weve only applied in june
I reckon you'll be fine managing to see Lana - as well as there being lots of options for shift patterns that will have Saturday headliners free, there'll also be plenty of people with different taste so it all balances out pretty well! have an amazing time 😊
It's a big list it's going to be very challenging to fit that all in! Our son is down there on DCP as US college student for 7 months he started 2 weeks ago he works custodial at Typhoon Lagoon which is the ultimate chill job from what he describes. With him & you just have a great time and everything is a good experience what magic you make of it!
it definitely will be a challenge, I have a feeling I'm not going to be getting much rest this summer! typhoon lagoon custodial sounds great - maybe I'll end up trading a shift or working with your son at some point during the time we overlap! thanks for watching 😊
it's so hard to predict, as our pre-screens were in July and final interviews were in December, but last year the final interviews were in November and previously they've been even earlier! you will always be able to choose your interview date/time from a few days of interviews when they do announce it, if you're worried about the timing of it 😊
This is perfect thank you! What did you do on the tower just watching for something to happen and then report it? Did you meet lots of people I’d probably go alone! Thank you!
glad you enjoyed! on towers you're always in a pair, one person at the top and one in front, so if you go alone you'll either get put with someone or because it's super easy to make friends on the campsite you can choose someone to buddy up with! the person at the top of the tower just keeps a look out and the person at the bottom will end up getting asked loads of questions but you swap lots and I really enjoyed both positions! you'll have radios so you can ask the leaders any questions, find out when you're going on break/ask to go to the loo and report anything you need to. there'll also be water backpacks and fire extinguishers at the bottom of each tower if you do need to put out any fires, but this all gets covered in the briefing and I didn't hear of anyone having any stressful experiences from our camp. so many people went solo and we all ended up hanging out so I'd say definitely go for it! sorry for the long reply but hope that helps!
we linked up when we applied as that means you get given the same shift pattern, and by applying early you have a better chance of getting your number one choice! but when positions are distributed during shifts you can stick with your preferred partners by making sure you go to the same zone together; they'll try and make sure you're with the people you want to be with!
I loved the video, I love the architecture and have read loads about the design but never get to see the inside as it is now and lived in. I wish I’d had student halls like this! xx meg
Hi Katherine! My daughter's joining UEA this September. She was allotted a room in wolfson close which is called the standard single I believe. We've been trying to find recent pictures or vlogs of that accomodation, but couldn't find any. Could you please, PLEASE DO A VIDEO ON IT? Thanks ❤
Hi! Unfortunately I was only able to film the Ziggurats tour as this was my own room/flat; I am not able to access any of the other accommodation. I know the Standard Single flats are very hard to find info about, I ranked them as my third choice purely based on price as there didn't seem to be much else online. I do know that they are structured more like a 'house' with rooms in each flat on multiple floors as opposed to all being on one level.
Amazing vlog! I'm starting out this September to study computer science (w/foundation) and I cannot wait for freshers, especially since its right around the corner. Thank you for sharing this insight❤
If i am visiting disneyland paris the 12 to 15 september... i should make all my purchase on the 14 and 15th then make the claim at disney fashion on the 15 before 11pm right? And when i am leaving France i have to check the form out on the automated machine at the airport right?
I believe you can make purchases at any time as long as you get your receipts checked within the 2 days! So if you're happy making a couple of visits to Disney Fashion across the trip you should be able to accumulate it all and then yes, check the form out at the machine 😊
Thank you for watching! There is no process to select a specific room type other than for accessibility, gender or noise reasons as far as I'm aware, but I will say that there isn't really a bad room in Ziggs - all of my flatmates loved their rooms for different reasons and I'm sure your son will make his room feel like home in no time.
Hiya Katherine, I’m planning on coming to UEA in sept 2023, your videos have been sooo helpful please keep them coming! Couple questions I have is, how many in your flat? How much per week? Any top tips? Thank you soo much and I love your vids X
Hi! I'm so glad you've found the videos useful! The max number of people for a standard Ziggs flat is 14 - 10 single bedrooms and 2 twin rooms per flat - but the most we ever had was 11, and I know a few other flats that weren't at full capacity either. The price changes every year, but looking at the website for 2023 starters standard single Ziggurat rooms are £127.89 a week, shared twin Ziggurat rooms are £90.30 a week and if you want a twin room to yourself (which I personally don't see the point in) it's £180.60 a week. My tips would be to try and join in with as much as you can, even if it's slightly out of your comfort zone, as this can help you make some great friends and memories. But also don't be afraid to go to things on your own - sometimes heading to something without a mate as a safety blanket is the best way to meet even more new people! Hope this helps! x
@@katherinesclubhouse aww thank u soo much u have actually comforted new loads and I’m a lot less nervous.. could I please make a request, could you do a video of a week in your life as a uni student at UEA or even a day in the life for you? Thank you soo much for your response and can’t wait for your next vid ❤❤❤
tips for the tax refund: - keep all those receipts together! (don't worry about receipts for food purchases, they don't count towards the tax refund) - the tax refund has to be done before 11pm on the SECOND day after making a purchase - remember your passport (they asked for it at Disney Fashion) - try to make all major purchases on one card (I'm not sure how they process it if purchases are spread across multiple cards when it comes to filing for the refund) - the refund arrived in my bank account 6 days after we processed it at Gare du Nord, but that included a weekend, so it could be quicker than that!
