"I believe in myself and my skills and talents." You have to be the first one to believe in yourself before anyone else will. But believing in yourself, you build yourself confidence. Your skills and talents are unique, you just need to figure out how you can share them with others. 365 Days of Positive Affirmations-Nicole Lockhart
I'm so used to watching performances from the 90s-early 2000s that were uploaded here years ago that I didn't realize that this was actually from 3 weeks ago
I was given a videotape from 2000 to capture a short local news segment from it, but I ended up watching and recording the whole thing which included some interesting and amusing old ads, and this great Foo Fighters appearance.
That was the only interesting music on that tape; the rest of the content was other TV shows from the era like Seinfeld and Friends or whatever. The old ads were the most interesting part of that.
It's so strange watching old footage like this. I recently watched another of the Foos from an old SNL taping, had to have been from 2001. They were performing "times like these" and at some point Jim Carrey crashes the stage and starts to pretend playing on a guitar using his leg while hopping around on the other. Made me laugh while at the same time my eyes started to well up with tears, because I remembered when it originally broadcasted. I was in my sophomore year visiting at my grandparents house which I typically did a lot of in my younger days. My aunt would change the channel over to it and we would all be up late together watching with pie, coffee and ice cream. Funny how certain things evoke a very specific memory that I'm sure you've all experienced as well and wish you could revisit. Anyway, thanks for listening.
There was a time in the 2000's when Dave started copying the vocal style of the singer from Monster Magnet.. I miss Dave's vocals from 95 until early 2000s.
Do you know where the live footage of them performing the song was from? I know the single was recorded in Calgary but I have a vague memory that they performed it live for the first time the following night in Edmonton?
My 1st 2 weeks as a roadie in Melbourne Australia we done a suport to midnight oil..l just turned 16...loaded equipment up 2 flights of stairs at the peir hotel in the suberb Frankston in Melbourne.lucky l was 100% fit from AFL football & training...anyway l was at the side off the stage when oils were on Peter garret looked at me he was a bit scary looking compared to most lead singers.anyway he was doing kicks over the guitarists heads .this was 1980.few years doing concert lighting then l become a sound engineer l lernt from all Australias top sound engineers.
playing right into the propaganda that corrupted the left and has defined the fall of the west. are they populists now or still attacking other citizens? at least the first clip was just an american putting words in their moth.
Great interview! I was not sure if Blue Sky Mine would be touched in this interview but I was pleasantly surprised. Originally hearing the song in 1990, but being from the states and not understanding what it was about until 2024 and 67 now, I have an appreciation for the song. I have been following up on the Wittenoom story. While the song was done in 1990, this issue still goes on. Wittenoom no longer exists as a town but there is still debate about the cleanup and whose responsibility it is. And with WA government hoping that closing off the town roads, erecting signs, and threatening prosecution of trespassers that this will stop people is a pipe dream. Of course if I do visit Australia, I have had enough video footage of the mines and other historic events regarding Wittenoom to know I don’t want to visit. But I would like to see it cleaned up so that people might eventually be able to visit. Again great interview!
