hey man, I race out there too #27, I'm relatively new, only done 4 race days out there, question for you. In T1 are you accelerating into the corner and then letting off around the apex or braking around the apex to get into the kink? I've been letting off entering the corner and coasting until about the apex then back on the throttle. I'm just trying to get faster, sunday i finished 7th, but started from 12th on the day since I didn't qualify either.
Hey man I am the driver and Rob is my dad. I always brake around T1 but it’s pretty quick. When you watch the video around T1 when the throttle goes down I am on the brakes, I don’t coast and I am on the gas before the apex Hope that helps. If you have any more questions let me know
It's beautiful. However, I think I'd personally look for set of 2.125 or 2.35 tires with a "fatter" profile to fill out those gorgeous fenders a little more. Otherwise, it's a real gem.
Cool story! Did you clean up all the original parts or have to use anything reproduction? Those X-53 are worth a pretty penny you were luck to have it as a kid!
Help me! I have the same clutch and when I stop the wheels it kills the engine. I tried cleaning it up but nothing. Is there something I’m missing? Mine also squeaks like that, I think it’s the extreme difference in sprocket size from rear to front
Check the clutch hub bushing! I use anti seize on mine. If thats not the issue then check the air gap on the discs should be between .035 to .050 no more. Use a feeler gauge. Good luck
Old bicycles are so cool . I bought a mid 60s tandem a bout 8 months ago , my daughter and I have ridden it a bunch , Now I own about 20 bicycles . My latest is a 50th Anniversary Western Flyer "Golden Flyer" It has been in a spare bedroom for 56 years , I even got all of the paperwork from when it was bought new . All it needs is tires and tubes . I aired the ones on it up Sunday and rode it about 5 miles . This morning the back tire had a big knot on it .
